We have recently learned about the heartbreaking challenges that hearing loss patients are facing in this Pandemic. Seniors citizens have been heavily targeted by this sweeping pandemic and there is an estimated 20-30% of seniors that rely on their hearing aids.
Our brave medical professionals are doing everything they can to save our loved ones from this challenging time and we cannot thank them enough for their service. In order to keep our medical professionals safe, they require air filtering masks that muffle their voices, making it a challenge for even the keenest ears to hear. We cannot express how incredibly important that seniors wear their hearing aids and have them secured so they can hear and understand what is communicated to them while hospitalized.
The risks of losing a hearing aid is often magnified when a patient is receiving emergency life saving treatment. Sometimes it’s the small price you pay for a life. Under these difficult circumstance, patients are becoming their own healthcare advocates while their loved ones anxiously wait at home. Those hearing devices will become an important role in overall patient care and needs.
