Parenting tip that sounds small but changes the whole conversation:

Instead of starting with “No,” try starting with when.

“Can I have screen time?”
“Sure, when your homework is done.”

“Can I have a snack?”
“Yes, when your room is cleaned up.”

It still sets the limit, but it gives kids a clear path forward instead of an argument to push against.
