e for my 19th birthday. Luckily for him, by that time we'd been dating for seven months and he had already won me over. When I graduated college and the hubby finished flight school, we got hitched and over the next 10 years the Navy moved us eight times back and forth across the country, and at one point even back to my home country: Germany. My lovely sewing machine got pulled out on a few rare occasions, but more often than not, collected dust in the closet. That's when I increasingly found myself sitting down at my machine, slowly discovering my passion for the craft of sewing. Fast forward to now, and the clothing items/games/projects have withstood the rigorous, unforgiving hands of my three kids (consumer testing at its finest). Soon, I realized that I needed a legit excuse to justify to my hubby why I keep buying fabrics. (Oh, how I LOVE fabrics!) Inspired by my mom's constant exclaims "OOOOH! You should sell that!" and my hubby's and sisters' unwavering support and amazing encouragement, I dove right into creating my very own business: Nina's Flying Needle. I specialize in fun, bright colored items that are environmentally friendly, reusable, washable AND meet CPSC safety regulations.
