It’s Monday, so we have to ask: Where did you find the Outdoors this weekend?
We know where Levi from Inman Outdoors found it—hanging from a tree and chasing a massive Pennsylvania whitetail! 🦌🏹
On Saturday morning, September 19, the first day of archery season for select WMUs, Levi punched his tag on a buck he named PennDOT—because of the “traffic jams” he caused whenever people spotted him. 😂
Here’s Levi’s story:
“I’m at a loss for words right now…
The amount of time that went into this deer is insane. All the days driving around trying to lay eyes on him, hours staring at onX, and setting camera after camera.
He became almost clockwork—until he disappeared for 11 days and sent me absolutely spiraling. 😂 But he came back.
On Friday, he daylighted at 12:40 PM. MID DAY. I didn’t have a great wind for Saturday, but I had a pretty damn good idea what he was going to do.
On Saturday morning, September 19, I got in the tree at 5:15. At 5:45, the camera went off—he was coming. By 6:00, PennDOT was underneath me.
After patiently waiting for daylight and trying to finagle around all the doe without getting busted, it came down to a 12-yard, hard quartering-away shot.
The Hoyt did what she does best. 🏹
And just like that…
This might be the first PennDOT project ever completed, ON SCHEDULE. 😂
What a freaking deer. What a morning. And what an experience.
Thank you to everyone who helped me put the pieces together, listened to me overthink everything, and helped drag him out that morning. This was my deer and my hunt, but there were a whole lot of people behind the scenes who were along for the ride.
PennDOT is down. 🦌🏹”
Congratulations, Levi! This is what putting in the time, studying the land, and living the outdoors is all about.
Now tell us—where did you find the Outdoors this weekend?
