cannot NOT recommend you enough! Honestly this whole debacle has just been rubbing salt in the wound on a move that was hard enough already. Anyone considering a cross country move with kids… save up your cash and go full service if you can and save yourself the headache!

Revival Lane started as a house account when we bought our first house in Wisconsin in 2019. Somehow that evolved into an antique booth, then a shop, and each iteration followed our journey as a family and as business owners. Now the business is closed, and Wisconsin is thousands of miles away…

We rented a house sight unseen to be our landing pad as we made the biggest move of our life with 2 kids and 2 cats in tow. We have been pleasantly surprised, while the house doesn’t have the same MCM oomph we’re used to, it does have a great big mostly original kitchen (hidden under layers of paint and linoleum). I especially love the great big drainboard sink, with the previous occupants funky tile additions. It’s weird to be in a place that we aren’t totally free to alter, but I bet we will pull some renter friendly tricks out of our sleeves.

I hear the old place is already undergoing renovations… I’m glad we’re too far to see it happen, but I hope they love what they end up with.

My early Christmas present from Jacob- a new mug for a new chapter! Our family has been thrown a few curveballs this year, and we’re doing our best to roll with it. I really thought the last move we made would be our last, but it looks like that just isn’t the way it will shake out. If anyone is looking for a truly gargantuan mid-modest ranch in the cutest neighborhood of Appleton, let us know! We will be sad to leave Wisconsin, where we’ve built our family, met wonderful friends, and this business that has been so precious to us. Our silver lining will be being much closer to family and all that we’ll discover in Washington. Any antique mall/vintage store recs are welcome!

We’ll be winding down our booth this month over at Memories, currently everything is 50% off! Help us lighten the load and stock up on some deals before Christmas!

Going home for a visit with Dad- 4/5 side tables in this room have at least one book or magazine waiting, and I knew this was his mug immediately. I also *obviously* had to borrow it for my own today, because yes, we *do* need all our books. So sorry to our respective spouses and any movers who may encounter us, we cannot help it apparently 😅

Somehow it hit me that I’ve been schlepping this mug all over the country for 19 years- since my art school days in the OC. Vintage Starbucks, the last thing I bought with my employee discount during Christmas 06. It feels like yesterday, and yet, time keeps plowing on!

I was looking back at pictures of our first home, and feeling nostalgic over how *aesthetic* it was, but I know one day I’m going to miss the chaos of MCM classics mixed in with kid world. Another morning, another mug. Jacob bought me a mini version of our raised beds last Winter to keep me excited about our garden plans. Having taken the garden through Spring, Summer and now putting it to bed for Fall, it worked! We are officially tapped out on tomatoes, couldn’t get enough salad (neither could the bunnies apparently) and can’t wait to do it all again next year!
