Quilt Creations By Chris

Quilt Creations By Chris I make special order quilts for babies, anniversaries, weddings, memory. In sizes crib to king. I also have quilts that are ready made for quick gifts.

My page is to show people what kind of quilts that I make and to let them know that I am into making memories for others. I hope that all the quilts that I make will become family heirlooms, but I also want them to be used. I enjoy it when I can meet people who want a quilt made and help them pick out the fabrics so that it can truly be THEIR quilt. Picking the pattern is also fun to do, because q

uilts have their own and also the personality of who the quilt will be made for. I have made many baby and/or crib quilts, family tree quilts, memory quilts, bed quilts for boys and girls, newly weds, 50th anniversary, 5 quilts made out of clothing of a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and the host Mom of a foreign exchange student, another made of shirts from a very special Dad and husband. To me all quilts are special - I love making them for people and I hope they love receiving them.

Hi Everyone - I am sorry for not posting again for some time. I have had some health issues to deal with.
With no craft shows this past fall, I finished many projects that were started but never finished. It felt good to get the projects finished. Then with getting sick (not Covid) I was unable to sew, bake Christmas cookies, even wrapping gifts took twice as long. Didn’t get back to sewing until a week ago. All I could do was sit. December 28th I ended up in the hospital for more aggressive means of getting medication into me instead of just pills. Since January 2nd when I got home, I have been slowly getting better. Not fast enough for me.
On to new projects - once again all items are FOR SALE. I will include prices for each item. Postage would also be added. You can see more items on ETSY - under Creations By Chris.

Now I am working on Fall and Christmas along with knitting when I run out of energy.

I will try to post more often and show more pictures of my items.

Everyone please take care and stay safe!!

Chris

Hi Everyone - it’s been crazy times these days. I have been in the house for 9 weeks with 2 outings to the doctor’s office. I was tested for Covid-19 and was negative. Thank goodness!

Since I have been in the house I have been sewing a lot of good things. I worked in January and February on Easter and Spring only to have the show cancelled. So, I put that away and started on fall, Halloween, winter and Christmas. I only hope we will be able to have some shows this year. I will be selling my items on this site along with my ETSY site. Please take a look. Let me know what you think of my current items.

With summer coming, I hope we will be able to get out and enjoy the sunshine. I also look forward to our granddaughters softball games. We have not heard anything about the season being cancelled, so I will keep my fingers crossed. She is also supposed to play at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over the 4th of July week. There has been no update on the tournament either.

The quilts and wall hangings shown below are almost finished. They are for sale, but need to be quilted. My quilter fell and broke her arm, she is on the mend, but out of commission for another 6-8 weeks.

That’s all for now — hope you all are staying safe and healthy. Until next time —-/

Chris

I want to wish everyone A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year. As I reflect on the year of 2019, I realize how blessed I am to have family living in the same town as I do, so I get to see my children frequently, I have some great friends who would help me when I am in need and a husband who does things I ask (sometimes I have to wait awhile, but it gets done), which is special for me as I have been getting weaker in my walking. So for me all this is something I do not take for granted. To my family, I say THANK YOU.
Now, on with the show! I have already started to work on Easter projects, but still finishing some Christmas items.

The bunny can be ordered in white, gray, brown or tan. The cost is $32.00 - if you are interested, please order early, as I will take a limited number of orders. I will have more Easter and spring in the near future.

Thanks and will write again soon.

Hi All - I must admit to slacking off in mailing out some current information on what I have been up too! I have been busy with multiple special orders, these are just 2 of them. The t-shirt quilt was king-sized and the baby quilt has baby embroidered animals. I also have the same baby quilt in blue for a boy to complete! I made a 1930’s quilt from a picture that a previous client saw and wanted me to make one just like it for her quilt collection. Another baby quilt for a little one who was to be born just days after Grandma got the quilt. I was in such a hurry to get this finished, I forgot to take a picture. Now I am in the process of making a Bear Tracks quilt from a picture, but the client wants it like a bedspread, but on days when a more casual look is wanted and the top is folded down the look is still the same as the bedspread. Of course it will be king sized and on a pillow topped mattress, making it even wider and longer. In between all of these, I have managed to work on 4 other quilts for Christmas gifts, attend multiple softball and basketball games, watched our oldest granddaughter go through a kidney transplant and 11 days later cross the stage at her high school graduation, and she is now settled in at college! It was amazing to watch her change over the summer to a vibrant, happy, smiling woman who is now healthy and doing fantastic. Her doctors at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee are fantastic!! We spent a week in northern Wisconsin with all 4 of our children, their significant others Terri and James, and Terri’s niece and her friend. Except for Terri and Dave, everyone came at different times, so we could visit with each. Fishing was good enough for a fish fry one night. Now one more vacation and I will have to sew day and night to get caught up for my fall shows. My husband and I are going to Hawaii for the first time and we can’t wait.
My shows this year are as follows:
October 18 & 19 - Fall Fair to Remember - West Bend

Happy Autumn - - - Chris

Softball is now done for the year so, I should get more sewing time!!! Maybe — every time I sit down to see, the phone rings, I have some alterations to do for someone, it’s now “zipper season”. Everyone decides to get new zippers put in because the old one broke. They wait all summer, then it starts to get a little chilly at night- that is when they remember the dreaded zipper!!

Time to go do some sewing - oh wait a minute —- I have 6 drapery panels to hem first!!!

Hi everyone , it has been way to long since my last message to everyone. Believe it or not, I have not been sewing, but knitting instead. I have been making animals for babies and kids. Meet Amy the Angelfish, who is completely done and Clarence the Dinosaur, who is a work in progress. He needs 3 more spikes on his back. I have all the parts knit for a 🐢 , 🐸, 🐝, 🦉, goldfish, clown fish, a 🎅, reindeer, and an elf, and a monster! All of these parts were knit while driving to and from Florida, and while on a Caribbean cruise. I know what you are all thinking - who takes knitting on a cruise!!!! Well, I would go crazy 😜 if I didn’t have something to do. I did all the touristy things, ship things people do, but still had time to knit at night.
While we were gone the weather every day was sunny and 75-80. Got home before the snowstorms hit the Midwest. Now we sit with about 6inches of ❄️.
Well, that’s about it for now, will have more animal pictures and sewing items next time!
I promise it won’t be as long as the last time. Have a great day and hope all who got snow, like me, can say “goodbye” to it soon.

These are 2 dresses I made for a little girl, who lived a dress that I made for someone else, but I told her I could make one for her also. I asked her favorite color and she said blue, so the blue one came first. She was so excited that I would make a dress for her. Her Grandmother asked that I make the white one also. She has not seen the white one yet and I can't wait for her reaction. The back opening is that of a heart.
If you have a special someone that would like a dress made, please contact me for specifics.
