One thing I’ve learned from making womenswear:

The same suit won’t flatter every woman.

And that’s exactly why tailoring matters.

For example:

If you’re taller, double breasted jackets and wider leg trousers can look incredible.

If you’re petite, softer shoulders and slightly shorter jacket lengths often work much better.

If you’ve got more shape through the hips, a slightly longer jacket can create a much cleaner line.

And if you’re broader through the shoulders or bust, softer construction and lower button stances usually sit far more elegantly.

That’s why copying something straight off a mannequin or
Instagram doesn’t always work - even if you love it on someone else.

Good tailoring should work with your body shape, not against it.

The goal is for people to notice you in the outfit... not the outfit before they notice you.
