Meet my girl, Ashlyn—the youngest of my four kids! 💕
On December 13th of last year, she suddenly developed motor and vocal tics. Those quickly progressed into more complicated neurological symptoms, including seizures, falls, and episodes where she temporarily lost the use of her legs. She was eventually diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder, or FND.
This has been one of the hardest years of my whole 43 years of life—and even harder for my daughter, who was just 14 when it began and turns 15 this month.
My focus has been on her, so caring for my plants, propagating, and scouting for fun new varieties went on the very back burner. Honestly…even the stove was off. 😂
All that to say…I’m coming back!! 🌱
I’m ready to start collecting and GROWING again. I’ve been working hard at home, clearing out the old and making room for the new—getting things ready for the unusual, beautiful plants that made me fall in love with all of this in the first place.
Life still has a lot going on, so I’m finding my way back a little at a time. But I’m excited to share new finds, fresh growth, and what’s next for Mrs. Fancy Plants.
If you’ve wondered where I’ve been, now you know. Thank you for still being here.
