BAWEK'S SHOE STORE IS OFFICIALLY
C L O S E D

I officially turned the key at about 4:08 PM yesterday afternoon, but my work was not done. I delivered a pair of shoes to a long time customer in Independence after I closed. I then filled up my tank of gas at another longtime customer Pietrek's Gas Station and said my Thanks.

I have a half of dozen special orders that are to be picked up this week that are now in or will be here this coming week. I am still willing to order BROOKS tennis shoes for people this week and give them to you at a price. All orders must be paid for in June because my monthly sales will hopefully be finalized this month. So if you so desire you can reach me at 608-323-2316. This week only.

LAST DAY-LAST DAY- LAST DAY

The forecasted rain might have made this decision easy to decide to be open. I will be open from 11:00 - 4:00. 🥸

Once again there are some foot stool still up for sale - some measuring devices- some shoes of course-and socks. You can get an idea of what we have left by looking at last post.

Someone asked me today- how do I feel. I said-TIRED. But it's been a great run. So now I could use your help in getting rid of what is left. Nothing else really needs to be said for now-there are too many emotions and thoughts to really write anything. Hope to see you tomorrow.

Maybe (??) Last Day -

Yesterday was a BUSY-GREAT day. I got rid of some very nice shoes at some very nice prices to my customers. What made it even better was that I had a great-long time Couples-customers come down from the Osseo area to say Hi and Hopefully not Goodbye.

I was treated to a very heartfelt THANK YOU and One was given right back to them for all their years of being a LOYAL customers. As I am sitting here typing with a tear in my eye-I realize how great this was to be able to meet such GREAT PEOPLE in this whole 60 mile radius. We are in an area of HARD WORKING, KIND, APPRECIATIVE PEOPLE. I feel we are BLESSED too be able to call this area HOME.

THIS is what I am going to miss. Thank you to all that have MADE OUR 50 YEARS a great run. You have supported our families and are truly thought of a lot.

Change in plans today-because change in weather

Too wet for golf-and fishing until about noon today. So now my wife talked me into being at the store this morning. Okay- I was also feeling guilty not being there. SO--- I will be there this morning until 11 00. I will stay longer for you-if you call 608-323-7236.

Storewide- nothing is less than 40% OFF- UP TO 80% OFF. I have about 110 shoes and boots TOTAL in the store remaining. I will be open Wednesday for sure next week- and depending on what is left
maybe Thursday and Friday with limited hours.

I am also selling shelving- floor mirrors- fold-up tables- foot stools- displays. Everything must be paid for if you want me to hold the items for you. Many things have been sold already-don't wait to purchase.

Thank you for understanding my confusing hours.

This week's update

If I was to tell you that this may be my last week open- how would that affect your decision to come in? If I was to tell you this week I am only open WEDNESDAY-THURSDAY AND FRIDAY- how would that affect your decision to come in? WELL- this may be my last week-it depends how many shoes I sell this week-and yes I am only open these 3 days- no longer Saturday.

I counted all shoes and boots yesterday- and total I have I think about 138 pairs left. THESE WILL GO. I have marked down-some items up to 80% and everything else in the store is NO LESS THAN 40% OFF.

I have been thinking about all kinds of thoughts and how I will end these post. I WILL MISS YOU GUYS- but I won't miss working 6 days a week. See you soon.

2 maybe 3 weeks remaining.

The inventory is getting lower and lower everyday now. The store is now at 30-50% discounted. If you wait- it might get to be too late. This week I am open Wednesday-Thursday- and Friday 10 00AM - 5 15 PM and Saturday 8 00 am- NOON.

Getting rid of all fixtures also - fitting stools- chairs- displays-etc.

I should of lead off with this. I appreciate that last week- you-my customers let me set different hours for the week. My wife and I were blessed to have our entire family together to watch the Broiler Day Parade from the front of the Store-probably for the last time.
We had an extra blessing this year-of which we did not have last year. Our youngest son brought along his girlfriend - Areeba. We got a few days together to get to know her better. Our Family took quite a liking to her. As for myself -she made a good impression on me by letting me beat her in Golf and other games we played. WELCOME AREEBA.

Another reduction has just begun.

Yesterday was a day of relaxation. Golf was the game of choice. It was truly a mixture of good holes and bad holes. The rain seemed to be on the same page as we were. The rain started out as a nice slow relaxing rain and by the 9th hole- the rain - told us it was time to go. Our relaxing walking became a hurried walk and we made it just in time before the clouds opened up. No matter what -it was a great day of enjoyment between My wife and youngest son and myself.

After play-we decided we should put in an hour of work. We put signs up in the windows to let people know---NOW THE WHOLE INVENTORY IN THE STORE IS NOW 30% OFF.

But do not hurry in today or tomorrow- but wait til Friday. My Family time is still in effect until Friday. Then hurry in for BEST SELECTION because things are truly going fast.

If you are in-please ask for a tour in the back rooms. It was there that thousands of pairs of shoes were stored.

If I say it again-it is only because I feel I should say it a million times more. WE APPRECIATE OUR CUSTOMERS - AND NOW- IT IS GETTING CLOSE TO YOU BECOMING JUST OUR FRIENDS- WHICH IS A BLESSING IN ITSELF.

I am just guessing-but I don't think we will be open more than 3 more weeks. Like I say it is just a guess.

What a beautiful day.

BUSY time a year for many people. I just wanted to remind people that the store is open today from 8 00 AM- 1 00 PM.

Then next week we are really only open Wednesday and Thursday from 10 00AM- 5 15 PM. Then we are closed down for a week for Family Time.

I still want to help you with your foot problems if you need it. Why wait? I have gotten to THANK personally a lot of my customers for their supporting my business over the years. But I want TO THANK ALL OF YOU-that are out there that have not heard it directly from me. You are the reason for our success for being in business for 50 years. THANK YOU.

THE CLOSING IS GETTING CLOSER

Tomorrow begins all shoes-unless they are special orders- are now 20% off. That would be the Work Shoes-Hikers- Tennis shoes- casual shoes- Western boots- Viking sandals and yes- all Socks.

This is coming out in the paper today and it may be my last advertisement. I have about 220 pairs of shoes left and that is all of the listed styles combined.

I would still be Happy to special order some Brooks Tennis shoes for you if you would so desire. Also I have a special order-again- for some Aetrex arch supports. I am going to wait about a week to order -so if you would like-call me NOW or stop in and I will get you some if I do not have them in stock for you. That will be my last order for them.

We truly have some good sizes left in some shoes-but I am serious- don't wait too long.

It was an interesting day for me. One of my first times mowing at our farm- I was sitting there on the bench resting. Along comes a Hummingbird and was a little more than eye level to me just hovering for about 10 seconds. If you know anything about them you would know that that is a long time for them to stay in one place. My Dad was a big fan of the Hummingbird and would feed them at his house. You never saw many at the farm so I definetely thought it was a SIGN. Today mowing- I just got there and got dressed to mow. I heard it come in but was not sure what that sound was. I turned and it was there in the flowers for about a minute. I thought again about it being a SIGN. I saw it 2 more times before I left. What was the message? Was it to enjoy the day- to give me some advice about the last few days at the store- was it to remind me to send a prayer his way and too not forget him? I accepted all 3 messages.
