I’m not meant to be seen.

I stay behind the stage.
Cleaning.

Dust. Ash.
Things people leave behind.

But it’s not just dirt.

There are marks.

Near the curtain.
On the floor.

I saw it once.
Didn’t clean it.

Couldn’t.

I stayed there… longer than I should.

The smell is still there.

Not bad.
Just… strange.

I don’t rush anymore.

I go back to the same spots.

Again.
And again.

I keep some of it.

I don’t know why.

I was assigned to serve.

Not to think.
Not to question.

Only to execute.

Every movement was measured.
Timed.
Exact.

The box aligned.
The cloak folded.
Everything… in place.

That was the rule.

That was enough.

Until it wasn’t.

The machines slowed.
Not broken —
just… unsure.

The air changed.

And then —

it appeared.

The Yellow Sign.

Not drawn.
Not placed.

It was already there.

I paused.

Just once.

That was the mistake.
