Wow. Ten years and two kids later. I first started at HSU in the fall of 2010, and my last semester was in 2015. It’s really hard to wrap my mind around the fact that that was 15 years ago. So much has changed since then, and yet, I’m still me.

The same girl with an innate drive to help others and to help our planet.

Now I’m showing up to my first day of school today with a lot more life experience under my belt. I can’t wait to see what comes of this semester and to step into what I believe will be an incredibly fulfilling career as an environmental photojournalist.

Thank you for being here. Truly. I am driven by my desire to help and serve others. So having you here really helps to fuel that passion in me. 💕

Such a strange feeling being empty.

So much love for the storehouse and all the beautiful people that make that historic space so special.

Thank you to everyone that has ever bought a rug from me. Or told your friend about my shop. Or liked our photos. You have kept my dream alive and showed me that when I share my passions with the world, others receive it with love. And that feels so good.

It’s a bittersweet feeling moving out. To be raw, I’ve experienced so much change and loss this past year. More than I ever have. And at the same time, my gratitude for having lived through these experiences is so strong.

I know that with all this change comes an opportunity for regrowth, and finding the strength and passion to move forward with the unknown.

Moving out of the rug shop and it’s so bittersweet. When my mind was set and focused on it, we were doing so well. You guys LOVE our rugs! That makes me so happy.

I have such fond memories of Jaxon hanging with me in his back room. It truly was a family affair. Our business will continue via website and possibly at venues in the future though! 💛

But my priorities are other places right now. And while I know it is a positive change in the right direction, it’s still a sad one.

I’ll be doing a flash story sale on this account tomorrow. Looking to re-home some of our gorgeous pillow covers and rugs as many of you have been asking to see the pillow covers up close!

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I announce we’ll be closing the shop doors after the new year. 💔

Those that follow know it’s not a complete shocker as I’ve had a number of major life events happen this year, with the birth of my daughter and loss of my mama. I’ve been navigating it all the best I can, which unfortunately means the rug shop has taken a back seat.

Our location is such a beautiful spot in the Jacoby Storehouse, someone else deserves to bring some life back into it. It doesn’t deserve to just sit idling all year as it has been.

I kept holding out, thinking I could give the time and love it required. But one thing led to another, and my soul urged me in a new direction.

It breaks my heart as I have dedicated so much time and love into making this space so cozy and perfect. Jaxon is super bummed he is losing his little play room as well.

But change is a major part of life, and I’m working on accepting that.

What this means for you:

The webshop WILL REMAIN OPEN 🎉🎉 and we will introduce some new policies that make online shopping easier, such as a more flexible return policy as opposed to our final sale we currently have in place.

I’ll offer more information as I have it, but just know that all of our extra large area rugs along with a few runners will be going on MAJOR SALE soon! 🥳

Thank you for all the love you guys have shown us over the past few years in this space. I am so sad, but I know in my heart it’s the right decision. 💕

It has been one full year today since the rug shop opened in the beautiful Jacoby storehouse. 🎉

I am so grateful to be where I am and for this amazing community. I have been itching to get back to work and trying to decide what that will look like with a newborn.
