Definitely an emotional cleaning 😒

Recently, my mother’s home which was my childhood home I’ve grown up in since I was knee high to a duck caught fire.

Thankfully no one was injured even though there were a few people at home at the time. The house has substantial damage from the fire along with water damage from the fire department putting the fire out! During the cleanup process (which was intense and emotional for us all) some items were taken to a restoration facility however most of my family’s items were destroyed as you could imagine.

But some items we found we were able to keep! Including these boots that belonged my father who passed in 2019. When we found them they were tucked in a storage bin insulated from the fire but were very dirty and laden with the smell of smoke like everything else! My nephew (pictured below) saw them and said “Uncle Tino, these are paw paw’s!!” After asking his granny (my mother) for them and she said yes he then asked me to refresh them! I told him, “It would be my pleasure!” 👊🏾
