Just a little background information.
I am a mom of four girls. I know the struggle to dress them and myself modestly.
I began sewing while living in San Diego. I was asked about making culottes for PE at my church in the early 90’s. I hadn’t grown up wearing them and really had no idea what a culotte was. Back in those days the Christian Womanhood pattern was the only one we used. It had tons of pleats and a drop yolk waistband. The girls called them Batman because all the pleats looked like bat wings.
Fast forward fifteen years to my first daughter. I began to wonder what I would do for her. It had been years since I had sewn clothing. I was fortunate to find a culotte pattern by Mrs. JoBeth Ho**er. I was able to change it a little bit and discovered it worked great with jersey knit fabric. No splits needed and it looked exactly like a skirt. I made them for my own girls and recently began to sew for others. I finally got brave enough to put myself out there to help others also.
Modest Stitch Nitch (spelled this way on purpose) was soon formed.

Welcome to my group page for my sewing business. I began sewing many years ago but recently started a business.
If I invited you it’s because I thought this might be something you or someone you know might be interested in.
I specialize in culottes. What is a culotte you ask?
It’s a piece of clothing that appears to be a skirt but has built in shorts of the same fabric underneath. This provides modesty as you do all the things you wish to do.
