Leigh here. It’s been quiet, and part of that is because I have problems saying good bye. It always takes forever, and I do not always have a graceful exit. I will probably spill something on the way out, or say something I will think about for a week afterwards. Anyway, onto the announcement. After 11 lovely years at The Drygoods Shop, I will be leaving it very soon. It has been my other Asheville baby, and while hard to move on, it’s time to plant seeds in other gardens. Thank you for letting me teach your kids, help you sew, carve pumpkins with you, and watch my children grow up in the beautiful community. I have loved being in this space so much, and have been blessed to share it with amazing studiomates and neighbors. Here’s some shots of the studio in years past. I will be posting more of these in the next few days, as well as announcing the big studio sale (!!!!) happening this weekend.

Thanks to all you beautiful makers who have been donating masks at the shop!! —— Posted • This past week we were able to donate 380 masks to thanks to the mask drive, and donations left at by members of the community in Asheville! We are still in the midst of a pandemic, and it is critical we are all wearing masks in public and being safe! Beloved Asheville is doing great work to make sure masks are getting into the hands of people who need them. They have been working nonstop to help people affected by Covid-19, delivering food and meals, and making sure resources are getting to people who need them the most. We're looking for candidates with a strong work-ethic, and enthusiasm for quality & the craft of sewing. Comfortability with industrial machines, attachments, binders and sergers a plus. We offer a friendly, flexible and democratic work environment for a team-oriented candidate. Our crew supports each other in each and every task.
