Dear Tiny Owl Community,
It’s with great sadness that I share the news, The Tiny Owl will be closing October 26th.
When I opened this shop in 2022, my dream was to create a space that welcomed Queens families... a safe, kid-friendly, community-focused store. Watching your families grow these past 3 years has been one of the greatest joys of my career.
Unfortunately, the past 9 months have brought challenge after challenge:
*A 15-20% increase in costs due to tariffs
*Delayed and canceled vendor shipments also due to tariffs
*Consumer confidence as low as 2020 levels
*A significant rent increase in May
*And in July, a new Target opening just around the corner causing a dramatic drop in sales.
All of these combined made it impossible for us to continue. I think it’s important to share our story so you understand this decision did not come lightly.
Our last day will be Sunday, October 26. Between now and then, we’ll be offering incremental discounts each week (starting this week 10% off), along with special events and surprises to celebrate our time together.
A few housekeeping notes:
*Returns will be accepted through October 2, then all sales will be final
*Gift card sales will end September 14 (but all existing cards can also be used at The Brass Owl)
*Fixtures, displays, and equipment will be available for purchase in the final days
While it’s goodbye for Tiny Owl, I will continue to fight for The Brass Owl.
