We at the TDF Costume Collection were incredibly sad to learn of the passing of the great costume designer Albert Wolsky at the age of 95. A frequent guest at the Sharaff Awards, it was a true pleasure and privilege to award Mr. Wolsky the TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award in 2010. The winner of two Academy Awards, some of Mr. Wolsky’s most remembered film work includes “Grease,” “All That Jazz,” and “Bugsy.”

If you weren’t at the second annual Costumes & Cocktails featuring the TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards, then you missed our exclusive video filmed for the event!

As a tribute to the classic red carpet question, we answer the only way we know how, draped head to toe in TDF Costume Collection. This past Monday night we celebrated the return of Costumes & Cocktails featuring the 2026 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards at TAO Downtown.
The evening’s festivities were kicked off with a surprise appearance by the fabulous image architect Law Roach. Following remarks from our very own Stephen Cabral, VP of the Costume Collection, the award presentation began!
Broadway star Katie Rose Clarke presented the TDF/Irene Sharaff Ascending Artist Award to two-time Tony-nominated costume designer Jennifer Moeller, complete with a surprise video appearance by the Queen of Country Music, Dolly Parton!
Next up was Charles LaPointe presenting the TDF/Irene Sharaff Artisan Award to hair and wig designer Tom Watson.
Following a video about the importance of our friends at The Tobin Theatre Arts Fund, lighting designer David Finn presented scenic and costume designer and artist John Macfarlane with The Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design.
Donna Langman presented the final award of the evening, the TDF/Irene Sharaff Award for Sustained Excellence in Costume Design to Oscar, Emmy, and two-time Tony Award-winning costume designer Paul Tazewell.
After closing remarks from our Executive Director Deeksha Gaur, focusing on the importance of our sustainability here at the Costume Collection, an evening of old Hollywood glamour was spent dining and dancing the night away!

We’re about 72 😉 people short to make our marching band complete! Our costumes recently went out for a production of The Music Man and getting to see them on stage inspired us!
