Fun little project this week. I have sweet memories of my Gram warming hers and snuggling up with it. I could see the comfort it brought in such a simple way. Been wanting to make these for a bit, thanks .walters for the lil push 😉💛
Relief bags... a traditional rice bag, can be warmed for a natural heating pad, or toss in the freezer for some cold comfort. The rice comes in an ivory cotton inner pouch, and the outer fabric is our standard cotton/linen fabric. Can be removed to wash or trade out if needed. Grab one bag and a few covers, or a few bags just to have on hand(especially if you have more than one kiddo and they both want in on the comfort 😆)

I went through literally everything... organizing, releasing, rehoming. My mantra during all of this has been William Morris’ “Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful.”
I’ve literally gutted my business and taken home only what I want to work on during this transition. I am thankful for the opportunity to do this, and always to have more practice in releasing, because damn, if I haven’t done enough of that this year...you would think I’d be a pro by now, but no. It’s still hard. Releasing is still really fu***ng hard, even when you know you’re making a choice that feels best.
..because no matter how positively I look at things, there’s still a mourning. I can’t wait to see what’s next, but I mourn what I built and the community I grew into. I can’t wait to find the groove of my new days, but I mourn the routine and the rhythm (which honestly there hasn’t really been either since March), I can’t wait to see where I land! but I mourn the windows and the light and how the plants thrived, and how beautiful it felt when it rained. I can’t wait to rest!!! but I mourn a space that fueled my creativity & gave me the comfort & room to grow.

I know that what is next for me will be exactly what I need, but oh man am I going to miss this shop.

Anyone else feeling the weight of life right now? Only not in a detrimental way, more of a ‘I really need to rest a min and I’m ok with that, kind of way’.
The feeling you get when you’re almost to the mountain’s peak, but you tell yourself to take a break on that perfectly seat shaped rock, peel of your pack, gulp your water, and look at the trail behind you, only to say to yourself “How beautiful has this day been!” As you stare in awe of how massive the earth is around you. And then you breathe, hop back on that trail and head to the peak.
I’m due for a break, I think I might even be ready to hibernate for a bit. 🍂
