Hi!! As tomorrow is my 6-month-iversary 🎉 as a vintage booth curator, I thought I’d celebrate by introducing myself to my little following. Hello…I’m Jana and the face behind the Little Red Bird {at Home}!
I started planning for this adventure about a year ago after retiring from a 32-year career as a marketing and public relations professional and with a short stent as a physician recruiter. But I’ve always had a penchant for home decorating and for old things with character and history…a love I inherited from my gracious Southern mother and in whose memory The Little Red Bird gets its name.
My workspace has gone from corporate and government boardrooms to my SUV, my kitchen island, the corner of our garage, and my 8’ x 9’ booth at the lovely Athens Antique and Vintage in Athens, Georgia.
This little booth has allowed me to scratch my creative itch and experience the thrill of the hunt — while also giving a second life to vintage treasures instead of seeing them end up in a landfill.
When I’m not hunting, refurbishing and staging for my booth, I’m volunteering at Lydia's Place, Women of Welcome and Athens Church and getting stronger at CrossFit Liberate.
In July, I made the decision to convert my business model to less about making money and more about giving back. That’s why each month ALL profits from the booth go to a different charitable organization that I am passionate about. Thank you to all of you who have supported my little venture so far and helped to make a dent and a difference in such important causes!
Lastly, I am so grateful to my amazing husband, our two incredible adult children, and my loving friends who have listened to me talk (endlessly 😁) about this passion and have been my champions and cheerleaders along the way! ❤️
Here’s to the next six months of treasure hunting, rescue stories, and giving back! 😊
