Wednesdays are for wellbeing! 🌳

Every Wednesday at 9:30, we host our Wellbeing Walk. Did you know that walking can help reduce cortisol levels and strengthen areas of the brain that regulate emotional memory? This can be especially helpful for those living with PTSD.

Join us for our Wellbeing Walk this morning, and on the 17th, join us for our final New Parent Group at our current location.

Let’s walk, talk, and connect together. 💚

APW is going on a listening tour, and we want YOUR feedback! 🧡

Fill out the first survey if you’d like to be considered for a focus group, or complete the second survey if you’d prefer to share your thoughts anonymously.

Let your voice be heard and help shape the future of Athens Parent Wellbeing as we reimagine and strengthen support for families in our community.

Tomorrow is the start of Infant Mental Health Week! A common misconception is that the early years don’t matter, but from ages 0 to 2, babies are exploring the world through their senses. Dedicate some extra cuddle or play time to your littles this week. They’ll thank you 🧡🧑‍🍼

June is PTSD Awareness Month. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can impact your relationships with your family members. You might struggle with angry outbursts, feel withdrawn, have difficulty in large crowds, and need a lot more alone time. But there are resources and support available for managing PTSD and maintaining healthy relationships with your children and family.

You can find rituals or routines that are comfortable and safe for everyone, such as a weekly family walk or craft night. You can also build coping skills together, like practicing box breathing or taking a yoga class. Lastly, remember to apologize to your family when needed. Everyone makes mistakes, but it’s important to explain why you’re sorry and why you reacted the way you did. Honesty and communication are key to building strong relationships.
