🐝 🔴🔵Hornets, your homecoming countdown is officially ON.Delaware State University is calling the family back to Dover. 🔴🔵 Hornet Pride.

Founded in 1891 as the Delaware College for Colored Students, Delaware State was created to expand access to land-grant higher education for Black students. From its beginnings on 95 acres to the university it is today, more than a century of Hornet history has followed.

And no matter how far life takes you after graduation, there’s something about Homecoming that brings you right back where it started. Pack the bag. Book the flight. Come home.

They got next. 🐯🖤💛 The countdown to Homecoming continues, and this time we’re headed to Grambling State University on October 3rd.

And Grambling’s story? It literally started with a community deciding they deserved a school of their own. A group of Black farmers in North Louisiana organized to bring educational opportunities to their community, eventually seeking the help of Booker T. Washington from Tuskegee. That effort helped lay the foundation for the institution we now know as Grambling State University.

They wanted a school. So they built one.

Now, 125 years later, Tigers are still coming home. 🐯

Homecoming season is officially loading… 🏈🎓🔥 and Bethune-Cookman said they got first.

📅 September 19, 2026
🐾 Hail Wildcats!

But before Homecoming comes the history.

In 1904, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune started the school that would become Bethune-Cookman University with just $1.50, five girls and a vision. More than 120 years later, that legacy is still roaring.

So yeah… y’all have a little something to come home to. 😏

First day of classes: “I go to Alabama State.” 🐝
Four Weeks Later: “I am a PROUD student of THEE ILLUSTRIOUS Alabama State University.” 😂

Somewhere between your first class and crossing that stage, the word illustrious just finds its way into your vocabulary. And by Homecoming? Oh, you’re saying the WHOLE title. Every. Single. Time. 😂

People often measure the value of college by what happens on graduation day.
We think the real value begins the day after.
The relationships. The mentorship. The network. The confidence. The community.
Those things don't expire when you receive your diploma.
