In September, came to visit me and mentioned that she wanted me to make her a sweater. She was at the end of a program she had put blood, sweat & tears into & would soon be a certified Montessori teacher. She asked me to put “Brown Skinned Montessorian” on it, & I decided to post the finished product. This is how officially came to be.

She wanted to wait to wear the sweater until it became official. On Monday, she finally got the chance to do it! She had no idea how that small request would change everything for me. I’m so glad that she finished the program and finally was able to wear it. Thank you for the ask, & congratulations on this beautiful chapter! Your students are so lucky to have you. ✨

Etsy made this lovely post to highlight my year. I’m still in awe that I took this plunge. This may have seemed out of the blue but in true Virgo fashion, I’ve been sitting on this for 2 years. Proud of me for taking the risk, for allowing the mistakes and lessons, for being honest about the imperfections and for leaning into creativity.

During the pandemic I decided that I would lean into hobbies, as I hadn’t really done that before. Crafting was one of them. I’m so glad I did. Now that this has become a side hustle, I need to find something else that will remain a hobby. Either way, cheers to me for stepping out in a big way!

Lastly, thank YOU for all the views, shares & of course, orders. You showed out for me in ways that I am still processing. I am looking forward to an even bigger 2023! ✨

I heard this gem today while listening to one of my favorite podcasts / and I had to share.

December can be a rough month. It marks the ending of so many things—semesters, the year, a chance to meet whatever arbitrary goal you set at the beginning of the year. Don’t even get me started on the stress of the holidays—& I’m feeling it in a completely new way this year as a small business owner.

Be gentle with yourself. The days are shorter and the nights are longer. Our emotions can sometimes present themselves as facts, and sometimes they just straight lie to us. Stand in your big emotions, and wave them away when it’s time for them to go. We got this! 💪🏾
