☆ The color story & themes of this mini collection reflects the current state of fashion, merging the resurgence of early 2000s pastels (2000–2010) with the bold, high-contrast hues of the 1980s. Soft pastels layered with neon accents evoke a “futuristic Barbie” aesthetic, complemented by shimmering metallic silvers and statement accessories to create a playful, hyper-feminine look.
The bright pops of color from the ’80s were often paired with contrasting hues to signify high energy and optimism. Retrofuturism in fashion was adopted by youth as an act of rebellion against polite society. This is why this mini collection centers around themes like playfulness, exploration, and uniqueness.
To Cerise Zhane’, retrofuturism is the embarkation of life beyond Earth and earthly rules. Reinforcing repeated elements like mixed prints, bold colors, and unapologetic femininity are themes throughout this collection. While a white and metallic colorway will be used to reinforce the futuristic palette. ☆
