“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” - Proverbs 21:1

As we step away from this election season, let’s remember that no matter who won or lost, the true authority is God. He holds the hearts of leaders in His hands and directs them for His purposes.

If your candidate didn’t win, take heart—God is still on the throne, guiding the path forward. And if your candidate did win, celebrate with humility and love.

Let’s be a light in how we respond, walking in unity as believers. The world is watching us, so let’s show them that our hope isn’t in any earthly leader, but in a faithful God who rules over all. Let’s choose love, grace, and unity, trusting that God’s plans are good.

I've been reflecting a lot lately on the power of prayer, and this verse from James 5:17 about Elijah has been speaking to me. “Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth."The thought that Elijah was as human as we are and yet could pray with such impact is incredible. It’s a reminder that, just like Elijah, we are invited to come to God boldly and with faith, trusting that our prayers do matter.

Prayer can feel awkward or even small, but I’m learning that it is never wasted. Talking to God—the Creator of the universe—should be a natural choice, even when it doesn't bring instant answers. It’s like when I talk to my husband or friends: they may not fix my problems, but I feel heard, seen, and somehow lighter. How much more so when I bring my heart to God? In these challenging times, especially during an election season, it's easy to feel anxious and overwhelmed. But instead of getting lost in worry, I'm choosing to pray.

Prayer is powerful. It’s a gift that connects us with the One who sees all things, knows all things, and has the power to move mountains. Let’s remember to use this gift daily—not just as a reaction, but as an intentional way of living.

“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple." — Psalm 27:4 ESV

This verse captures my deepest longing: to be near God above all else. In a world filled with distractions, I choose to seek Him, to make Him my safe haven and constant source of joy.

Let’s remember what truly matters. When we choose Him first, everything else finds its place. This is the one thing I want — to know Him more each day.

Transparent Moment

I was diagnosed a years ago with anxiety and ADHD, and I also go through seasons of deep depression. These struggles are so much more than being “fidgety,” “worried,” or “just sad.” Some days, it’s hard to even get out of bed. Living with anxiety and ADHD impacts my relationships in ways that aren’t always visible. I can come across as distant or distracted, but I care deeply and am always trying my best. With ADHD, I’m sometimes impulsive—I say things I don’t mean to or even break things because I don’t always slow down and think things through.

As a Christian, I know that following Christ doesn’t erase these struggles. The good news is that God is with me through it all, even on the hardest days. I’ve even learned that some theologians suggest Peter in the Bible may have had ADHD, given his impulsive behavior and passionate, unpredictable nature. This gives me great encouragement, and I hope it does the same for you. Peter’s story reminds me that God sees beyond our struggles and that He can use even our weaknesses for His purpose.

I hold close to Romans 12:10: “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” God calls us to walk together, to show understanding and compassion rather than judgment. So, if you know someone who seems distant, distracted, or withdrawn, I encourage you to reach out and offer grace.

Relationships are a gift from God, even though I sometimes find them hard to navigate. Thank you to everyone who supports and understands or tries to understand —you mean more to me than you know. 💙

"Now, therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: *Consider your ways.*"
‭‭Haggai‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

How often do we pause to truly reflect on our lives and priorities? In Haggai, God calls His people to look at where they’re investing their time and energy, and to realign their hearts with Him. Are we building up things that will last, or are we distracted by temporary comforts?

Today, let’s take a moment to “consider our ways” and seek God’s guidance. What are some areas where He might be calling us to refocus or re-center?
