Had such an enjoyable (but exhausting!) weekend at the Grant Park Conservancy festival- my first art fest! Above all, grateful to my supportive husband John Barbee and really impressed with my 5-year old son who not only made some jewelry, but also sold it and taught about 8 other kids how to make a bracelet for their mom. That’s the real win. Icing on the cake: He made $35 to pay back dad for fronting the build of his soap box derby car. We even had a charitable donation to our favorite cause, The Gift of Surrogacy Foundation. Love this new phase of “work life integration” because it’s not really work: It’s just pretty sparkly things, art, family, and community. I enjoyed myself and my family so much this weekend and really appreciated the people who I got to chat with, my son’s company at the booth, and my family’s support.
