I know it's been a while since I was on your feed.
Please give me a moment to share some things with you...
I launched SHIFT StyleHouse in 2016 after over a decade in the fashion industry as a Buyer and Fashion Stylist. As an innate stylist with an eye for great design, I also had an unrelenting passion for encouraging and empowering women to confidently show up everyday as their best selves. I knew it was time to marry my passions and entrepreneurship spirit. Hence, SHIFT StyleHouse was born.
The top of this year I wasn't sure if I still wanted to continue with the brand...I also wasn't 100% sure if I wanted to let it go either. So I pushed pause. Literally, I paused the store. No emails. No announcements. No social media posts.
I needed a break. I've been going non-stop with SHIFT for almost 7 years (April 18 SHIFT will celebrate year 7).
And sis was tired. I didn't want to pack another order, do another photoshoot, NOTHING lol.
So I gave myself grace to be free of it all for a moment. I allowed myself to pursue other things I'm passionate about ( like being a Costumer for the Creed III movie), and really to just think about the direction I wanted to take the brand in going forward.
Last year while we had some amazing wins like selling out at Essence Fest, sales were consistently down about 40-50%. Thatβs a hard pill to swallow, but also a point of revelation to how I was operating personally. I wasn't giving 100% consistently and the business reflected that.
I say all that to say 1) give yourself grace, 2) take breaks when you need them, 3) hold yourself accountable for where you went wrong and could've done better and 4) WE WILL BE BACK ON APRIL 14th! So set your notifications & get your coins ready for the new drop!
