🌿 Plant of the Week: Frizzle Sizzle (Albuca spiralis)
The Frizzle Sizzle is a fascinating succulent bulb native to South Africa that stands out with its whimsical, corkscrew-shaped leaves. Its playful twists make it a conversation starter and a favorite among houseplant enthusiasts.
Why we love it:
•Curly, spiral leaves unlike almost any other houseplant.
•Sweetly scented yellow flowers that can smell like vanilla and butter in late winter or spring..
•Compact size, typically growing only 6 to 8 inches tall.
•Easy to care for when given bright light and well-draining soil.
Care Tips: ☀️ Place in bright sunlight for the best leaf curls.
💧 Water sparingly and allow the soil to dry between waterings.
🌱 Use a cactus or succulent potting mix with excellent drainage
😴 Don't be alarmed if it goes dormant in summer and loses its leaves. That's part of its natural growth cycle.
Fun Fact: The tighter the curls, the happier the plant usually is. Plenty of sunlight encourages those signature spirals to form. 🌿✨

🌿🪴 Carnivorous plant lovers, we have THREE varieties of Nepenthes in stock!
🌿 Nepenthes ‘Miranda’ – Known for its large, dramatic pitchers.
🌿 Nepenthes ‘Gaya’ – A beautiful, compact variety with colorful, multi-toned pitchers.
🌿 Nepenthes ‘Alta’ – Features stunning deep red to burgundy pitchers that help attract insects while giving the plant a bold, dramatic appearance.
And yes... they really are carnivorous! 🪰🦟
Their hanging pitchers contain digestive fluid that traps and breaks down insects, providing the plant with the extra nutrients it needs to thrive.
Stop by and take home one of these fascinating plants before they're gone! 🌱✨
CARE TIPS:

☀️ Light: Bright, indirect light. A little gentle morning sun is great, but avoid intense afternoon sun.

💧 Water: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Distilled, rain, or reverse-osmosis water is best because Nepenthes can be sensitive to minerals in tap water.

💦 Humidity: They LOVE humidity! Higher humidity encourages healthy growth and pitcher production.

🌡️ Temperature: Normal warm household temperatures are perfect. Keep them away from cold drafts.

🪰 Feeding: If insects are available, they’ll catch their own! Indoors, an occasional small insect can be placed into a pitcher.

✂️ Pitchers: Don’t panic when an older pitcher browns and dies off, that’s completely normal. You can trim the dried pitcher away while leaving the healthy leaf intact.

Important: Don’t fill the pitchers with water. They naturally produce their own digestive fluid. If a pitcher accidentally spills completely, you can add just a small amount of distilled or rainwater to keep it from drying out.

Such a fun and unusual plant to add to your collection! 🌿🪰
