🌼 Plant of the Week: Lithops (Living Stones) 🪨
Our Lithops are blooming!🌼
Also known as living stones, these fascinating succulents look just like tiny pebbles. Native to the arid regions of southern Africa, their unique colors and patterns help them blend seamlessly into the rocky landscape, while their thick leaves store water to survive long periods of drought.
And yes, those little "stones" really do flower! 🌸 Their cheerful, daisy-like blooms emerge from the split between their paired leaves, typically appearing in fall or early winter. The flowers create a stunning contrast against their stone-like appearance.
🌿 Care Guide ☀️ Bright, direct sunlight
💧 Water sparingly and allow soil to dry completely between waterings
🌵 Use a fast-draining cactus or succulent mix
🌡️ Keep between 65°F and 85°F and protect from frost
🪴 Fertilizer is rarely needed
✅ Fun Fact: Each year, Lithops grow a new pair of leaves inside the old pair. As the new leaves develop, the old leaves gradually shrivel away, providing nutrients and moisture to the plant.
Stop by and see these remarkable little succulents while they're putting on their floral show! 🌼🪨✨
