I'm in the 'slow knitting & recovery' phase of life.
This project is perfect for that. I intended to make a sweater scarf based on the pattern, but the stitches weren't showing up like I wanted them to with the yarn that I chose.

So, I used the framework of the shaping and stitch count from the pattern and created my own 18 row eyelet repeat.

I'll definitely be making the pattern that I bought, but this version seems fitting for this moment.

I made these from scratch.
The legwarmers.... and the legs wearing the legwarmers.

When your baby 🐦 requests the legwarmers.... momma 🐦 makes them.

The pattern was easy to follow and worked up pretty quickly in worsted-weight yarn.

If blues and hints of purple are your jam, you need to keep an eye on shop.

Sometimes, you need to dig a little deeper (metaphorically or literally) to find something that brought you immense joy to help you get through the day.

For me, that's this shawl. I love it. I loved everything about the process; the yarn I purchased specifically for it , the designer ( ), the quiet moments on my porch while making it. Everything.

Here's to finding those special moments stored away in our "closet" when you need them most. ♥️

We have a leg warmer!
As soon as I saw this pattern released on blog, I knew this pattern had to be in my collection.

2 days later, my 16-year-old daughter asked me for legwarmers. *insert maker heavens opening-up HERE**

The yarn I chose was
by and . It is REALLY soft, but also durable for someone who may not want to hand wash everything her momma makes her.

To avoid second sock syndrome, a second warmer has been cast on already.

Soon enough, my baby bird's legs will be extra cozy.

One of my 2022 intentions was to "make something unique". When I wrote this in my journal, I didn't realize it would be a fuzzy ribbon....

Fast forward 12 months, 65 feet & 10 skeins of yarn later... we've got a cozy new touch to our tree!

Gifting handmade things to the people that I love is what makes me happiest this time of year.

These wool wash flights and free printable by take gifting to another level and I'm here for it!

I finally get to share a picture of these socks, now that the recipient has one of these pairs on her piggies.

Do you have any knitting / crochet traditions?

I have a tradition each new year to start a new shawl (known as a hug in my house). This annual hug is kept with my blankets and can be worn by any teenager who just needs a bit of extra comfort. This is my third year with this tradition.

This year, I chose a pattern that was written for bulky yarn... though I am using lace-weight held double-stranded. So it's taking a while longer than usual because I'm just repeating sections until the shawl is large enough. The texture is SO GOOD!

I have officially crocheted 10 (TEN) skeins of fuzzy, sparkly white yarn this past couple of weeks. What for? You will see it soon!

I had about 3/4 of a skein left and wasn't sure what to do with it.

An 11-inch artificial wreath, about 20 rows of single crochet, and a suction cup make perfect decor for those areas where you want a little bit of elegance during the holidays!
