Check out our newest vintage tee. The Gnarly Gar was one of Lake Travis' most iconic floating restaurant/bars. Alway packed on weekends, the venue’s second level boasted a 180 degree view of the lake and hill country with a private bar and balcony. Indoor and outdoor seating was available, plenty of parking for cars and boats, and great live music on Friday and Saturday nights!

The Gnarly Gar was an iconic family-friendly, floating restaurant, bar, fuel dock, ship store, and live music venue on beautiful Lake Travis.

Here's a piece of Austin history, offered up for the 1st time in over 3ish decades. Willie Nelson bought the 1700 seat venue (just east of South Congress on the site of the now Hotel Magdalina) in 1977. It had originally been the ballroom of the Terrace Motel, and after that The Texas Opera House. The 9,000-square foot venue was cavernous, so Willie put in a recording studio, Arlyn, where Stevie Ray Vaughan did much of his recording.
Neil Young, Patti Smith, George Jones, James Brown, Lou Reed, Sam & Dave all played at Austin Opry, which stayed in Willie's hands for about 10 years.
The artwork for this tee is one of the original logos iconic Austin poster artist Danny Garrett did for the venue. Proceeds from shirt sales go to the artist. In 15 soft Bella Canvas heather colors !

The Austin Opry House was a 9000 sf music venue owned by Willie Nelson in Austin , TX. The venue opened in 1977.

Excited to offer up a brand new iconic Austin image and venue tee. Legendary Austin poster artist Jim Franklin designed this original promotional poster art in 1972 for the iconic Inner Sanctum Record Store on West 24th. In the 60’s and 70’s, Franklin was an underground cartoonist and poster designer for the Vulcan Gas Company, and of course the legendary Armadillo World Headquarters.

Inner Sanctum Records opened three weeks after the Armadillo World Headquarters made its debut in August 1970, and was conveniently located near the venue. You could go see the headliner at the Armadillo because you bought their record at Inner Sanctum. If you liked the opening act, you went back to Inner Sanctum and bought their album, and that’s where you saw a poster for the next show you wanted to see at the Armadillo. Austin music history at its finest.

This tee is offer via a licensing agreement and with royalties paid to artist Jim Franklin. Permissions granted by Jim Franklin and Inner Sanctum founder Joe Bryson.

This poster was designed by Kerry Awn for a Doug Sahm and friends 2 night show, Friday and Saturday night, November 1st and 2nd, 1974 at The Ritz on 6th Street in Austin TX. Also on the bill was Ramon and Ramon. Friends that performed that night were Willie Nelson, Link Davis, Jr. and Augie Meyers.
