This years theme of the Met Gala was “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” and while some adoringly refer to the gala as “fashions biggest night” we were left wondering who is the Met Gala really for?

Did you know most if not all of the overly expensive gowns and looks worn by celebrities are rented? All of these designers will allow celebrities to borrow these beautiful ornate gowns, and yet no mention of sustainable fashion anywhere on the red carpet.

It’s “fashions biggest night” and yet no mention of the small communities, the women, the seamstress that tirelessly work on these gowns.

We wanted to say a huge thank you to all of our change-makers and to YOU. Because of all of you we were able to help 30 families in Bangladesh celebrate Eid this year.

Although this may seem like a small drop in a vast ocean, we are reminded that every little drop creates a ripple. And because of you, we are creating ripples of change in the fashion industry.

Thank you to each one of our fashionable change-makers who made this possible and also totally 💯 slayed their outfits!

We gave our team Eid weekend off but that doesn’t mean we were going to stay silent on this.

We observed, those that could marched, and what we can do as a whole is amplify.

First and foremost we hope you had a safe and blessed Eid!

To our brothers and sisters in Palestine 🇵🇸 please know that we see your pain and we will continue to work to uplift your voice iA!

What’s happening in Palestine is NOT complicated; it’s called settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing. And in 2021 we should all be apalled that we have allowed for it to happen.

The first picture is the queen also championing and marching, while telling everyone “hold my Pepsi can!” 🤣 (we added a bit of humor) but don’t take it lightly.

We are tagging Palestinians on ground fighting for liberation, as well as Palestinian-led organizations, and frontline activists to help us all learn more. Please support them how you can.

Okay, you asked for it! So we are delivering! We were going to hold off on this product launch but since you’ve been flooding our DMs for new products we thought we would give you an early Eidi 🥳

The dhoti crop wrap set is SOLD OUT on the site! But we just DROPPED this beautiful Harisha saree on the site. It’s handcrafted and so soft it feels like literally butter on the skin!

was at the top of our list when we thought about what a change-maker is. She is fearless and champions kindness to all. She loves fashion and definitely appreciates sustainable fashion. And she thinks about her impact on the world. She is a true role model for all of us.

Rumor has it, there is a new designer drop at midnight tonight JUST in time for Eid and the change maker initiative.

While we recognize that everyone in India is in a somber position we do want to let our customers know that our outfits are all housed in the USA and we can still make your Eid dreams come true! There are no shipping delays and it’s all housed in a safe, sanitized, and secure manner.

That being said we are in constant communication with our teams in India and South Asia and will continue to be transparent with you if anything changes.

In time for Eid, everything on the site can be rented for $50. When you rent we actually match another $50 and will be sending that to our nonprofit partners in Bangladesh. A total of $100 will help 10 garment worker families buy clothes for Eid and get groceries!

This isn’t what we meant when we asked for representation. 🤦🏻‍♀️

As has pointed out countless times you have yet to pay the garment workers in the South Asian countries where you make your clothes. And yet you take a traditionally South Asian outfit like the lehenga and blatantly state that you’ve expanded your “bridal range.”

Unlike you, we actually help pay garment workers and actively do our due diligence to bring awareness and transparency to our outfits and designers.

We also credit the appropriate communities when necessary.

Thanks but no thanks!
