Trump announced “for the next 90 days, the United States will allow ip to 300,000 metric tons of product for ground beef to be imported”

This continues to follow the trend of destroying American ranchers. We have no mandatory country of origin label, these imports are cheaper and will be marked up to current market beef prices.

The new margin made goes to big meat packers like JBS and retail corporations like Walmart. Producers lose, consumers lose, and the same corrupt people win.

This is not America first.

Land is a finite resource and continues to be at the forefront in America with all kinds of groups and individuals trying to buy up as much farmland as possible (Blackrock, Solar companies, data center companies, Bill Gates).

This has made it very problematic for agriculture, as the farmers are already struggling financially (which is also why corrupt companies go after farmers so hard, they have all the leverage).

Diode Ventures was planning a massive data center just outside Triple N Ranch Winery but they received so much push back from the local communities that Diode decided to pull the project.

The proposed data center was expected to take 12 years before it’s fully completed. 5,000,000 gallons of water from nearby lakes was expected to be used every single day by the 5 year.

The fight is not over yet as the land that was planning to be used by Diode for a data center could still happen in the future from a different developer.

Save Cedar Creek Lake is a volunteer-led group that has also been trying to push back from having this lake pumped for Diode’s data center proposal.

All across Texas and many other states, local communities continue to face immense pressure from solar companies and now data centers.

New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced a part of his city-owned grocery store plan that will destroy small bodegas, grocery stores, and the food supply in this city when his plan inevitably collapses.

“Once a month, our five city run grocery stores will set prices for this core set of goods at 30% below typical retail prices. No exceptions, no gimmicks. The savings will last for the entire month. That means no weekly fluctuations nor sticker shock at the checkout line,” Mamdani said.

Items discounted will include produce, pasta, meat, seafood, bread, yogurt, rice, beans, and more. The first store is expected to open next year in Bronx, with second location in East Harlem to follow.

So far, the mayor has named La Marqueta in East Harlem as one of the five sites. Another will be located in Hunts Point, The Bronx. All five are expected to open by 2029.

This whole ordeal is God awful and will continue to worsen an already destroyed food system.

Joel Hollinsworth runs Smoke River Ranch in Oklahoma, where he’s built a herd-share community of about 40 families co-owning cattle together - a model that’s taken his herd from 15 animals to 425 in four years. But, this could all be taken away, as he’s fighting two subpoenas from the Oklahoma Department of Securities on claims his shares are unregistered financial securities. In this episode, Joel breaks down exactly how that herd-share structure works economically, and then walks through the legal fight he’s currently in.

He gets into why that claim doesn’t hold up, who’s helping him fight it (including USDA’s Brooke Rollins’ office and the American First Policy Institute), how they’re fighting it, and what’s at stake for other ranchers running similar models. Ultimately, this challenge threatens not only Joel’s ranch, but the broader idea that people should be able to support and participate in local food systems without facing unnecessary regulatory burdens or government overreach.
