The idea behind Eye Gave is pretty simple: for every pair of our 100% recycled sunglasses you buy, you provide a sight-saving eye operation for someone suffering with trachoma. It is estimated that 41 million people worldwide, mostly women and children, have active trachoma infection and need treatment. If left alone, trachoma causes the eyelashes to grow inwards towards the eyeball and causes ext

reme pain… and then blindness. The disease is considered the most neglected disease in relation to its contribution to suffering in the world. The treatment paid for by the sale of these sunglasses will allow people to start providing for their families again and allow children to return to their schoolwork and create a better future for themselves. On top of that, your purchase also puts us one step closer to treating an additional community of 400 people against the early stages of trachoma for a year — which we do each time we reach 100 pairs sold. Who are we? We’re a team of product designers, branding gurus and marketers with a passion for projects that make a difference. By partnering with the world’s leading infectious eye disease charity, we leave the important job of operating on eyeballs and dispensing medicine to the experts that have existing infrastructure and proven track records. This way, we’re able to make sure every penny raised goes directly towards eradicating trachoma.
