Needing a correctly proportioned figure…
And needing to draw that figure yourself are two different problems.
Most beginners assume the first one requires the second.
It doesn’t.
The figure is just the base the dress sits on.
Once the proportions are already handled, your practice hours go somewhere that actually changes how your work looks:
Deciding where the shadows fall and where the light hits.
That’s the part that makes a dress stop looking flat.
And to be clear about the dresses you see on this page, those came much later.
