Big Stars Over the Big Lake
There’s something about a summer night along Lake Superior that never gets old.
Last weekend I spent some much-needed time under the stars, watching the Milky Way stretch across the sky above Ellingson Island. As the night grew darker and the lake settled into calm silence, the stars seemed to shine even brighter.
I’ve photographed Lake Superior for years, but the combination of the world’s largest freshwater lake and a sky filled with countless stars still leaves me in awe every time. Moments like these are a reminder to slow down, look up, and appreciate just how incredible our night skies can be.
