Happy Western Wednesday…finally back in the Western Cabin with a few additions for warmer days. Not all together western but can go in any direction you like. All pieces pictured are larger sizes. More Dooney Burkes in cabin green with a small belt or crossbody Safari version of Willis Geiger. Other items added not pictured.
More expansion is going on in the Beauty Bar Oasis and updates on that soon.

Beauty Bar Oasis updates include mostly newly added purses and more spring inventory with a view of Stanley at nap time. As some know there are more Lucite purses to be added once I have more display space as the expansion project continues on the other side.

Thanks to everyone for all the lovely comments on my last post. I haven’t done many outfit posts lately but we always have a special occasion this time of year and two years ago I bought this dress for it but for the first time in my adult life I was too sick to attend. So I was very happy to give it an outing this year. However the last two years have proved extra challenging. My high maintenance health issues became more extreme and I really feel like I have aged 10 years instead of just two. But I keep trying to move forward and count my many blessings including my family who are a constant support and comfort.
I am always a hodgepodge of decades. This 1970’s Leslie Faye dress was purchased from .boutique in 2024 and my accessories mostly 1930’s and 40’s Bakelite and Celluloid jewelry I have had for sometime. Purse 1950’s box style, shoes from Talbots fairly modern about 2014 and flowers from The Garden District.

Not for the ‘faint of heart’ these two Jack McConnell creations were part of a large collection of hats I purchased a few years ago. But these first two really were my favorites with dramatic Art Deco overtones. Not just stunning design but amazing craftsmanship. One being a red feather signature hat being a one of a kind creation by McConnell himself. All available in the shop now including the very tiny “salesman sample” by Dobbs.

Weekend shop views at the Beauty Bar Oasis! It’s been slow going on the expansion project but more shelving added this week along the back wall will help accommodate more inventory. This week a small selection of 1950’s day dress and lightweight jackets added with a nice selection of 1950’s vanity case in the middle display along with other items. More inventory added soon.

Crawling out from under my rock to say Happy Thermos Thursday! I’ve had some bad days but back in the shop soon to post some shop views. We spent some time at the Beach Cabin Trailer before the heat wave so I’ve included some views of more thermos additions, bad art work and other homey additions. Or maybe just homely but most make me smile so it’s okay. Still lots to do there but sometimes it’s just to take a rest.

The expansion project on the Beauty Bar Oasis is well under way. This week lighting was moved, secured and a new shelf and dress rack were installed. New inventory can now be added. Which is a slow but hopefully steady process. Expansion in the other direction is also planned but one step at a time. Just happy to have the current increase in elbow room and potential for so much design and growth.

This week a little spring in our step, despite the chill we know spring can come up suddenly. This group “Tooled Leather and RicRac” touches on that possibility with 1950’s patio sets, fresh green cotton blouses, a few lighter jackets and tooled leather bags appropriate for any season. Also a few more western and plaid shirts in the mens racks and a couple of Authentic Dooney Bourkes for everyday practicality with style. All available in the Western Cabin area of the shop.
