We are focused on medieval reenactment and fantasy based events. Our shop sells blades, period men's & women's garb, cloaks, belly dance outfits, jewelry, tapestries, and other period accessories and trinkets. We merchant for SCA, COS, Belegarth, Themed Conventions, the Scottish Society and various other venues. My favorite part of being a merchant is the people I meet and the friends I make. Doin
g this part-time as a hobby allows me to have a good time with cool people without worrying too much about making money. The first was 2 months old at his first Estrella war, the second was only 7 days at Potrero war, and the last was only a month old at Potrero war. As broke college students, we wanted a way to afford to attend medieval reenactment and fantasy faire events more often. We started with a tiny mundane 6' gazebo at Darkwell War selling some blades that we paid retail prices for, and good enough jewelry found at the mall and thrift shops. We sewed some garb and cloaks and found a few thrift shop pieces that worked. We didn't do very well at the first war, but we learned a lot and grew. We upgraded to a 10x10 Popup, then to a 12x20, and after a couple of years, we were using 2 12x20 popup garden canopies. We learned to make more things to sell and found more suppliers to give us a large variety of stock. We have always used roughly the same markup to keep prices low while still being able to make enough to justify the work put in. After Estrella War 2008 when the haboob tore our mundane tent in half we decided it was time to get a period tent. We bought the 20x30 Panther tent that we use today. It was big enough to camp in and have our shop. We soon outgrew it and had to add a popup behind it for a kitchen. The shop continued to grow and take up tent space until it consumed the whole panther. Our full setup is now 30x40 at most events.
