It's prom season! In honor of Women's History Month, some special young lady will win the opportunity to receive a free custom dress for prom! Entry is easy! Winner will be selected on March 15th.

In 100 words or more: Who is your favorite historical or contemporary female figure? Why is she your favorite? How has she inspired you? All questions MUST be answered to qualify for entry. Don't be lazy!

Winner must be located in Maryland, [must be willing to travel if necessary] and currently enrolled in high school. Prom has to take place in April, May, or June. Project disclaimer will be issued once the winner is selected.

Once upon a time, wearing a dress would come with so much stress. And it has never been my favorite.

But technology has evolved, and so have I.

A great dress will complement your silhouette. The style and structure will speak before you do. It'll be paired with the proper undergarments and accompanied by an enticing shoe. Once this is understood, wearing a dress goes from daunting to doting.

Trends are cute. But classics are timeless. And there's nothing more timeless than a tailored suit. Goal? To have one by the end of this year, I'm halfway there.

Suit pieces are staples. Because of its versatility and functionality, it aids in decluttering the closet. Wear it together, separate, to meetings, and/or outings.. it's timeless.

I LOVE versatility.

These bottoms will be my new swimsuit cover up during the summer or when layered over leggings, a special occasion look.

Find you pieces that's going to serve you more than one purpose. Less is always More.

I'm known to raid a closet, dresser, or tote of clothes. If it's yours, it's mine. And don't be stingy!

I decided to pay homage to my dad with this look. Those "I'm bouta cut the grass jeans" are finally mine! That white polo for summer cookouts, vacations, church, and dinners?..
It's now a mockneck with a button back closure and an asymmetrical split hem.

Upcycling not only saves on fashion waste and helps the environment, but it also allows pieces with sentimental value to regain purpose.

Thirty is here!!! I never would have imagined walking into a new decade with half of my parental structure, but life happens to us all. And it's ok. But this year, I was blessed with the blues, and I just wanted to be with my dad.

"Happy Birthday, Booke! I love you!" **queue his 'Happy Birthday' rendition and celebratory whistle for the big finish**

"Now go enjoy your day." He would say, "It's your day, not your world!" 🙄😒😏

But.. I recently learned that you can't own something you don't invest in.. [apply that however you see fit]

For me:
my teens were full of fun
my twenties were for finding myself
my thirties?..

Facing fears and flipping tables.

So cheers to my new year and to the man I wish was still here! ðŸĨ‚
