For my Sewing friends - Claire Shaeffer has passed away. She was a fount of knowledge for sewists, and an expert on what made couture couture - especially the Chanel jacket. She authored books on the subject and you can watch her many YouTube videos dissecting her collection of garments. She will be greatly missed

It is with great sadness that I must post that Claire Shaeffer passed unexpectedly on Saturday, January 11th, 2025. She is survived by two sons, two grandchildren and their spouses. With Claire’s passing, her unique sense of style, expertise and authority will be greatly missed. Please recognize the family’s desire for privacy at this time. (posted by James Shaeffer)
