Hello everyone!

I am so sorry I’ve been a little MIA and neglecting this page 😅 life just kinda… happened all at once. School (which I’m so close to being done with 😭 and I start student teaching next year… which is exciting and also mildly terrifying), sports stuff, moving (craft room coming soon!!!), and honestly just trying to be more present day to day. Because of that, I’m really hoping to put more time and energy into Seashore Knit Co and grow it into something that can help support me during my student teaching year (and I will still be at the bookstore as much as possible! 📚 I am truly blessed to have the best bosses there who help me succeed and encourage me so much)

That being said, I have been knitting, just a bit more behind the scenes lately. I’m currently rewriting (and planning to rerelease) the Seashore Beanie pattern, and I also have a new pattern in the works!

When I started Seashore Knit Co, I really thought I’d be able to pump out patterns left and right and have this nice little stream of passive income. I had never written a pattern before, but I’ve always been good at kinda winging it and making things up as I go, so I figured… how hard could it be?

I humbled myself real quick with that thought 💀

Writing that first version of the Seashore Beanie was way harder than I expected. I did end up publishing it, and I got a lot of really kind and encouraging feedback (which I appreciate so much), but there were also some harsher comments, and of course those are the ones I fixated on.
I tried to fix everything that was pointed out, but I got discouraged and eventually took it down.
BUT. I’m not giving up on it.
I’m almost done reworking it (for what I’m hoping is the last time 🤞), and I’m still figuring out the little details in the new pattern. Once I get the crown decreases how I want them, I’ll start working on publishing that one too (so keep an eye out 👀)

At the end of the day, knitting is such a big part of who I am. It’s something that genuinely makes me happy, and I just want to share that with you guys 🧶

(And if you made it all the way through this, thank you. Seriously. I did not plan on writing such a long post.)
