In 2013 Simply Couture owner Tammy Aldridge had a dream ­– inspire women to take a different approach when it comes to fashion. Her dream has led her to four successful years of a retail storefront in Downtown Fort Smith, Arkansas. Prior to opening her first retail location, Tammy began a year long journey of curating and developing Simply Couture before the doors were even opened. “Anyone can buy

an inventory and open their doors to customers. I knew that to be successful, I needed to do something differently.” While accompanying her children on youth league ball trips, Tammy made it a point to stop in every boutique she could to gain inspiration for her store. Her husband Bobby was supportive and encouraged her to follow her dreams while aiming to be completely debt-free in the process. “As a result, I've had room to experiment, to take a different approach and, I think, it's paid off.”

Tammy eventually opened her doors at 305 Garrison Ave. "I've been in boutiques that were so upscale and exclusive that women on a budget (like me) simply felt unwelcome. Our shop balances affordability and exclusivity. We do that by finding wholesalers who provide terrific quality at a reasonable price, and by only buying 5 or 6 of any one outfit. No matter how quickly a dress sells, we won't restock that specific item, even if it's available. It's more important to protect the investment my clients have already made in that outfit. I’d rather protect them than sell another one that might create an uncomfortable situation if both women are seen wearing the same outfit in the same place. Right?" This attention to detail is what has made Simply Couture a premier boutique in-store and online. “It's really important for me to know what my clients like and to keep a fresh inventory so that every week they know they will see something new in the store or online.”
