❤️ Independent pharmacy feels different… because it is.

At an independent pharmacy, you’re cared for like a person — not rushed through a process.

We get to know our patients personally — your medications, your health goals, and what’s actually going on in your life.

That means taking time to answer questions, helping solve insurance problems, calling providers when needed, and going the extra mile to help you get the care you deserve.

And here at The Medicine Store, it’s even more personal — because Holly and several of our staff grew up and currently live right here in Basehor or Tonganoxie. Taking care of this community truly means something to us. 💙❤️

That level of care isn’t rushed. It’s intentional.

🎥 Watch this video to hear why we believe independent pharmacy still matters.

🧠 PART 2: Migraines are more than “just a headache.”

They involve changes in the nervous system, inflammation, and blood vessel function in the brain.

That’s why support like magnesium — and targeted ingredients that help support healthy blood flow and vascular tone — can make such a difference for some people.

In this video, we explain the “why” behind our more comprehensive approach to migraine support. 💙❤️

💥 PART 1: Not all migraines are the same.

Some are tied to hormones.
Some are triggered by poor sleep.
Some are related to weather, allergies, or pressure changes — which we see a LOT here in Kansas.

And if you don’t understand what’s driving the migraine… it’s hard to truly prevent it.

In this video, we break down some of the most common migraine patterns we see in practice. 💙❤️

💊 “Just because your antibiotic is finished… doesn’t mean your gut is fully recovered.”

Antibiotics can wipe out a lot of the good bacteria in your gut too — which is why people often notice bloating, irregular digestion, or just feeling “off” afterward.

And while yogurt is great… it usually doesn’t provide enough diversity or dosing to fully rebuild the gut on its own.

That’s where a high-quality probiotic can really help support recovery after antibiotics.

In this video, we break down why gut support matters more than most people realize. 💙❤️

Did you know stomach acid helps your body absorb nutrients? 👀

Medications called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) — including omeprazole (Prilosec), pantoprazole (Protonix), and esomeprazole (Nexium) — can be incredibly helpful for reflux, ulcers, and other stomach conditions.

But when stomach acid stays lowered long-term, it can sometimes affect absorption of nutrients like:

• Magnesium
• Vitamin B12
• Calcium
• Iron

And something many people don’t realize is that these medications were not necessarily originally designed to be taken long-term in every situation.

That does NOT mean you should stop a medication that has been prescribed to you. ❤️ For many people, PPIs are very important and absolutely appropriate.

But it does mean it’s important to understand the potential long-term consequences and to periodically reevaluate whether ongoing therapy is still needed, whether the dose is still appropriate, and whether nutrient support or monitoring may be helpful.

If you’ve been taking a PPI for a long time and dealing with things like fatigue, muscle cramps, low energy, tingling/numbness, or recurrent nutrient deficiencies… it may be worth having a conversation with your healthcare provider or pharmacist.

At The Medicine Store, we love helping patients look at the whole picture — medications, nutrition, supplements, and overall wellness. ❤️💙

Wellness without extremes — from your favorite pharmacist friends.
