Okay y’all! I got a little behind on posting items still for sale…we’ve got several items I brought home that we’d like to find new homes for—because we don’t have the room! The first is this cabinet below. I’m reposting the original post with dimensions and details. We are knocking the price down to $700. Let me know if you’d like to come look at it. Pick up at our home in Oldenburg. ⬇️

If you’ve been in the boutique, you know this as our “mug cabinet”. This is an old piece that Brian repurposed. It was completely rebuilt on the inside and refinished by a professional furniture finisher. It’s beautiful! I brought it from our home so it could shine at the boutique. We are wanting to sell it if there’s interest. It could definitely be a multipurpose piece. There is one more divider that goes with it. Shelving is all adjustable.
Approx dimensions:
3ft 3-1/2 in long
1 ft 8-1/2 in deep
Just a little over 5ft tall

Hi all-checking in!☺️
My last official post was a little over a month ago. It’s still so hard to believe! I promised you life updates, so here we go:

➡️This is the first official post showing you where “Pieces of the Boutique” ended up! Many of you inquired about our fiddle leaf fig tree, and at the time I really wanted to keep it but feared I wouldn’t have room at home. We discovered we did in fact have room—and it now sits in our sunroom/bar room! That made me happy.💚
(Stay tuned for more “Pieces of the Boutique” posts!)

➡️For the past month I’ve been working to tie up loose ends, close accounts, and officially close the business. I’ve also been going through everything we moved home from the boutique, most of which I’m keeping.

➡️We do have a few things we are still wanting to sell (at reduced prices) and I will start posting those TOMORROW with pickup at my home in Oldenburg.

➡️I still have no idea what I’m going to do now. I’m praying about and exploring work options, and definitely looking for something creative and challenging that involves working with people, so if you know of anything where I can utilize my skills, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. In the meantime, if anyone needs any help, I’m open to working some odd jobs if any of my local small biz owners need someone to fill in now and then!

That’s it for now. Miss you all, especially through this weird transitional period of my life.;) Thank you to those who have invited me for coffee, lunch, conversation, and even a free pedi. I’m still feeling the love.

And that’s a wrap.❤️
Bird in a Tree Boutique graced this beautiful & historic downtown building from 2016-January 2025 and had the honor of becoming a page in its history book. The conversations, happiness and countless memories are forever embedded in the walls of this space I called my second home for many years, and it’s going to be hard to drive by and not go in. Our family’s home base in Batesville is now gone, and I think we are all coming to terms with it. This was more than just a space to rent.

It’s been an incredible decade. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again—this chapter of my life has been the most amazing one yet. To Brian—you believed in me and my dream from day one, and worked selflessly to help me make it happen. I love you. To my sweet girls—you all helped more than you can imagine, and I did this partly for you. I hope I taught you that you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to, with a big dose of faith, trust and pixie dust.😉 To our friends who all jumped in and helped from day one up to the very last day (Dustin!), without expecting anything in return—you make me want to be a better person and pay every bit of it forward. I am so very blessed. To my shoppers—NONE of this would have been possible without you. It’s been amazing. THANK YOU and I love you.❤️ To the City of Batesville—you welcomed me from day one. Thank you for accepting me into the community and making me feel like I belonged. To my employees and interns—you made this dream even more rewarding than I ever thought it would be. You were my favorite part of owning a business and I hope you take a little of BIATB wherever you go. And finally—to God for guiding me through this freaking amazing journey. WOW.

I plan to keep my social media pages open. Many of you have asked for life updates, and I promise to do that. I also plan to continue supporting the small businesses—my friends—in the community and featuring them in upcoming posts. I can’t wait to show you where allll the “pieces of the boutique” ended up! One last shelf we found hiding in the back! This is heavy duty Baltic Birch and yes…Brian built it.😉 It has a clear finish on it but could be painted. Used in a closet originally. Dimensions are 42”w x 48”h x 16” deep. Asking $100.

Also, yes, we are here today for a little while longer. Running behind schedule and haven’t said our final goodbye to the building space quite yet. Text me if you want it! 812-212-8405

This was originally built to be our Free People brand display fixture. We have debated on what to do with this unit, and finally decided it could be sold in one of three ways:
1-We would sell the entire fixture.
2-We would sell the wooden shelf unit.
2-We would sell all the piping.

This is a cool looking L-shape laminate countertop I used in my back room office. Built by Brian, asking $100.
Dimensions are approx:
countertop depth is 2ft
shorter piece on left is 68” long
Longer bottom piece is 102” (8-1/2ft) long

TOMORROW, Wednesday, January 29th, I will be at the store starting at 10am. I will be there all day, not quite sure of an ending time yet—I’ll keep you posted. This will be our LAST OPEN DAY for any final sales. Yes, there’s still more available and I will be posting items all day tomorrow. Thursday it will all be packed up and moved out in anticipation for our final moving day on Friday.

I didn’t realize how emotional I was going to feel about selling this…until I started taking pictures to post.🥹

This cash wrap was custom built for me by my husband in his Oldenburg woodworking shop. It’s crafted from reclaimed wood and metal ceiling tins, which Brian painted and distressed. (The tins are on both ends as well as the front.) It’s an amazing piece of furniture, and it was my “home base” for 8 years. I spent a lot of time behind this counter. It’s also a place where I stood (or sat!) while getting to know my shoppers, connecting, sharing stories, confiding in each other, and more. There have been lots of smiles, laughter, and some tears from behind it. There have been quite a few champagne bottles popped as well!!! 😉🍾
I love it and wish I could still use it, but it would be better suited in a place of business.
(Or-someone just pointed out that it could be used as a cool home bar!)

I have searched cash wraps online, and have seen custom built cash wraps starting at $2000 and up. I’ve also seen small cheaply built stock cash wraps for well over $500 from retail supply stores. After my search, and looking at what we have invested to build it, we decided on $1500 as a more than fair asking price (it’s actually a steal). This is not something I want to just give away.

Dimensions are approximately:
29-1/2” deep
97-1/2” (over 8ft) long
35-1/2” tall from base to main countertop
The top shelf section on the front adds an additional 12” in height
Bottom front shelf is 62” long and is removable.
Storage shelves on the work side are all adjustable.
This is all one unit.

It’s simply gorgeous. It was built with love, served its purpose to support my dream of a community-oriented business, and is now ready to bring someone else happiness and good memories. I also hope it carries a bit of Bird in a Tree’s soul with it-because I truly believe in that.☺️
