Sold and shipped!
This is a vintage Bireleys orange soda (orangeade) bottle. The vintage soda bottle likely dates between the 1930s and 1940s as later bottles were not embossed. Bireleys, a company founded in Hollywood, CA in 1923 as a producer of non-carbonated soda, became part of General Foods in 1943 It is embossed on the front, "BIRELEYs" on both sides and underneath "COLOR ADDED" on one side and a"63/4 flu oz" on the other side. The bottom of this antique pop bottle is embossed with "patented June 1926" on one side and "Hollywood, CALIF." on the other side.

This simple clear glass bottle once held a "miracle cure" that was used to treat everything from cancer to constipation. The bottle has a lovely shape that would make a sweet bud vase or addition to your knick knack shelf. Standard Oil began selling Nujol in 1915 and the bottles for the product were made by Diamond Glass after 1923. This does not have the Diamond Glass trademark on the bottom so this bottle is likely from 1915-1923.

The W.T. Rawleigh Company operated in Freeport, Illinois circa 1889 to 1989. This company sold a wide variety of household products (cleaning agents, flavorings, medicines, ointments, remedies, etc) , which were sold by mail-order and by traveling salesmen (often known as the old “Huckster Wagons”), similar to the way in which the Watkins products were often sold.

Clorox gets its name from chlorine and sodium hydroxide, the two active constituents used to make the product. The logo: a Diamond has been in use for over 100 years and even to date.

The Clorox Company was created in 1913 by five entrepreneurs, Archibald Taft, Edward Hughes, Charles Husband, Rufus Myers, and William H***y, in San Francisco, California. Although it was initially called the Electro-Alkaline Company. When this bottle was made in 1928, it was likely delivered via horse and wagon.

Soon after its invention by Charles H. Phillips in 1873, Milk of Magnesia became Phillips’ most popular product. After Phillips died in 1882, his four sons gained control of the business, incorporating as the Chas. H. Phillips Chemical Co. in 1885. Although the product sold nationally, it probably did not become a household word until the Sterling Products Corp. purchased the firm in 1923 and stepped up national advertising. Sterling introduced Milk of Magnesia Tablets in 1931. The bottles for both the liquid and the tablets followed a logical progression of embossing and paper labels.

Hi! We're Alyssa and Pete. When we bought our forever home in Bedminster, NJ we knew it needed some work. Upon starting to clean up the backyard we found a glass pile. We did some research and our property used to be part of a large farm and we were lucky enough to end up with the plot where they threw out all their old bottles as recycling did not exist yet. We started collecting and cleaning the bottles, but it's time that we start sharing these unique pieces of history.
We are listing bottles (etsy link in bio) slowly but surely. If there is a piece you are looking for, don't hesitate to reach out. We are happy to offer bundling discounts and answer any questions you may have!
