MARYLAND DRIVERS: NEW TOLLING LAW TAKES EFFECT JANUARY 1, 2027!
Do you tow a trailer, boat, camper, or equipment for work or recreation? Here's an important update from the Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA)!
Beginning January 1, Maryland toll cameras can use the license plate on your trailer to collect tolls if the plate on the vehicle towing it cannot be captured.
โ
What You Need to Know:
๐น No new tolls! You will NOT be charged twice.
๐น Who is affected? Anyone towing trailers, including boats, campers, utility trailers, landscaping equipment, horse trailers, and more.
๐น Have E-ZPass? Make sure BOTH your vehicle and trailer license plates are listed on your DriveEzMD account.
๐น No E-ZPass? You may receive a Notice of Toll Due by mail and pay higher video toll rates.
๐ก Gerety Insurance Tip: Before hitting the road with your trailer, double-check your E-ZPass account and make sure your trailer registration is up to date!
