As a Montana native, I was fortunate to have grown up in the glory of the outdoors and learned to fly fish at a young age. During my teens and early 20’s I thought there were cooler things to do than hang out on the river with family. Work meetings and deadlines start taking over, bills are due, and cars need fixing. Life throws curve balls and we forget the simple things and take for granted what
makes us happy. Through this chaos, fly fishing became a part of my life again. It quickly reminded me of my childhood and also the little things I had been missing. It allowed me to be immersed in the outdoors again and I found a calm and serenity I had forgotten about. The more I fished, the more women I met whom shared a similar story and appreciation. I am proud to be part of a generation of women that fish because we love the outdoors and the beautiful places fish take us. We do not fish just because our fathers, brothers, or husbands beg us to. We fish because we love the days we get skunked just as much as the days we net a personal trophy. Rods, Reels & Heels is an organization devoted to empowering and supporting women through fly-fishing. We are dedicated to creating unique and inspiring women’s apparel and accessories, along with protecting the natural beauty of our waters through recreational and educational opportunities
