Shoutout to Charlotte 49er Junior Linebacker #19 Kadin Schmitz for being a true Underdawg. Kadin’s story is filled with moments where he defied the odds and trusted himself. After graduating from Ashland High School, he attended Naval Academy Prep School before securing a walk-on spot at Ohio U. He proved himself worthy, earning a scholarship and a starting role. Following two remarkable years, including a MAC Championship win, he transferred to Charlotte, where he’s now a key player. This season, Kadin racked up 66 tackles, 2 interceptions, and forced 2 fumbles. Keep grinding, #19, and good luck ahead. Appreciate your dedication to the Underdawg mentality. Keep pushing !

“My advice is to embrace being the underdog. When people doubt you, let that fuel your work ethic instead of discouraging you. Stay consistent, even when no one is watching, because that’s where real growth happens. Trust the grind, trust your preparation, go above and beyond - find extra training, camps, workouts outside of what’s expected! Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. If you keep showing up, staying disciplined, and believing in yourself, eventually the results will speak louder than any doubt.”

- 58 tackles, 4 sacks, 5 Interceptions with 2 return for TD
- 2024-2025 Florida District 3A Champion
- Florida Athletic Coaches Association State -Class 3A Offensive 2nd team as a freshman
-Sunshine Athletic Conference (SAC) Offense 2nd Team All Conference as a freshman
- Top 10 wide receivers in the state for class 3A stats ( #2 Freshman WR in Florida)
- Won 2024-2025 “Clutch Player” of year award
- Selected by USA Jr Olympic Flag to play in the USA Select Bowl
- Won Gold Medal at USA Select Bowl
- Invited to USA Jr. Olympic National Trials
