Summer might not officially be here but the temps sure are!
I had the joy of making the 🌟 NEW 🌟 Julie Swim Suit pattern.
Like all Ellie and Mac patterns, the Julie allows you to choose the swimwear pieces that fit your comfort, coverage, and style:
👙Bikini and tankini options
☀️ Cup-sized fit options
🩳 High-waist and low-waist bottoms
👓 Ruched swim shorts
🩳 Regular shorts in two lengths

Summer is upon us and I love me a skirt! This one in particular - the Be Invincible Skort by Ellie and Mac. This skort comes in both adult and kids size. You have the option to make a wrap skirt (my personal fav) or an open skirt (like my daughter’s) to where you can see the built-in shorts (the best part!) as well as choose from two different waistband heights. I love dressing them up for a nicer night out or for weddings. It’s so breezy for the hot summer days. I recently made myself a 3rd one with a 4th on the to-do list.

I realized the other night that that was my first time using my projector in the total dark to cut out a pattern. It was kind of fun. 🤩
Working on a new project/pattern at the moment using these fun geometric textured fabrics from a new(ish) fabric shop in town. Shout out to .fabrics Go check him out if you’re in the Omaha area. He’s got a great selection of fabrics from upholstery to apparel- no quilting cotton though.

Can’t wait to show you the final results!

💍 Wedding Season is upon us! 👰🏼 🤵‍♂️
Almost 2 years ago, my sister-in-law got married and had asked my girls to be her flower girls. I was excited to be able to make their dresses using the Ellie and Mac Kids Be Amazing Top and Dress pattern.

I did modify the pattern a bit in order to match the wedding theme by adding the tulle for the ultimate princess feeling and the ribbon belt. They got so many compliments on how beautiful they looked- even after my youngest destroyed her dress no more than 5 minutes after the ceremony. 🤣

They came together easily and quickly using silk fabric after a few prototypes were made and despite having a broken wrist at the time of making them. 🤦🏼‍♀️

New old toys are the best. I still can’t believe we found this at Goodwill. The worker told me he watched so many people just walk by it and not open it up. Luck for us I guess!

I’ve been a sewing machine (yes pun intended) lately trying to find ways to use up fabric in my office before buying new. And I haven’t had a chance to share them yet.
With spring upon us, I was inspired to create a few new pieces not only for myself but also for my girls using Ellie and Mac patterns of course. These pieces are great as they can be layered when cold, worn as is or dressed up/down as needed.
Pictured:
*Relaxed Raglan Romper - teal and coral romper. As soon as I shop for more fabric this will be made again as it’s so easy to pack for a trip! No worrying about having to match anything but your shoes.
*South Shore Romper - another great sew that actually did become part of my luggage as I traveled through Austria and Germany last summer. Peek the pictures at the end to see!
*Going Home Sweater - great layering piece to start the chilly mornings with.
*Chapman Cardigan the Straight Fit men’s style - my new favorite as it’s a great layering piece that can be dressed up or Dow with any outfit! This is definitely coming with on my next trip in a few weeks.
*Kids cami and short set as well as the School Cool Dress - these are my girls go-to’s as the weather gets warmer. They love the cami sets not only for nighttime but for running around in the warming weather. Their dress go great with a pair of leggings or a sweater on those chillier days and are honestly worn year round at our house.

Head cold, messy hair, no makeup and now running out of thread to match my bobbin! Ain’t nothin gunna stop me from completing this bag. I got other things to make befoe our trip next month! Let’s go!

My closet is finally clean and organized and to celebrate I used some of my scraps for a project.
I used them to create this adorable set of pattern weights for a friend who is learning to sew. It was such a great little scrap buster. Project 1 of helpfully many is now complete!
