When you run out of basting spray with one row of the backing left to tack down you resort to using your husband’s automotive headliner spray. Maybe not the best choice but it works for now. 🤷‍♀️ now on to the quilting part of this quilt 💚❤️

After my post the other day about my Grinch Christmas countdown, a cousin reached out to me asking for a grinch themed quilt/blanket. So, here I am sewing up the Chelsea Swindle Throw Back quilt. It’s a super simple and quick sew and I get to use my serger which feels like cheating. 🤷‍♀️ I’m loving it so far. ❤️💚

I missed the Christmas in July memo 😆
But here I am making up for it as I basically took the summer off from sewing. School is back in session for our kiddos so I’ve got more time to focus on projects.

School starts next Thursday for my girls which means a closet clean out. We have to say goodbye to some of my OG (and favorite) sews and it makes me sad. 😔
These outfits were a mix of patterns but made for some of their favorite go-to outfits which means I’ll just have to make them again. 🤷‍♀️ Now to find the time… ⏰

👖: Ellie and Mac Sewing Patterns kids Sunshine Leggings - on the one pair of pants I added the Hey June Handmade Monkey Bar Skirt. I just added the Sunshine leggings in place of where they place shorts.


Fun fact: this was the first pair of pants I ever made! These were inspired by the Old Navy lemon pants my youngest was obsessed with and outgrew.

I’m sad to see this print go. This was a Joann Fabric find years ago. Wish I would have bought more.

They wore this so much that the shimmer started to wear out.

Quilting is not for the faint of heart. I’ve been off and on working on this one for weeks and today mathing was not my strong suit which is now leading me in another finishing direction. It’s fine; not what I had planned but it’ll still work and still turn out fine. But now it’s time to take a break. Next step is tying corners.

I can’t believe summer is almost over for us! I haven’t had much time for sewing but I was able to make time for this adorable picnic outfit. 🧺
I found this beautiful bed sheet from Goodwill and was able to use the woven pattern Feel Pretty Pants and Shorts from Ellie and Mac to create these low waisted shorts. I also top sewn on some pockets because who doesn’t like pockets?! I paired the shorts with the Eliana Baby Tee pattern for my shirt. This shirt comes is many lengths - including crop top!

Summer might not officially be here but the temps sure are!

Summer is upon us and I love me a skirt! This one in particular - the Be Invincible Skort by Ellie and Mac. This skort comes in both adult and kids size. You have the option to make a wrap skirt (my personal fav) or an open skirt (like my daughter’s) to where you can see the built-in shorts (the best part!) as well as choose from two different waistband heights. I love dressing them up for a nicer night out or for weddings. It’s so breezy for the hot summer days. I recently made myself a 3rd one with a 4th on the to-do list.

I realized the other night that that was my first time using my projector in the total dark to cut out a pattern. It was kind of fun. 🤩
Working on a new project/pattern at the moment using these fun geometric textured fabrics from a new(ish) fabric shop in town. Shout out to .fabrics Go check him out if you’re in the Omaha area. He’s got a great selection of fabrics from upholstery to apparel- no quilting cotton though.

Can’t wait to show you the final results!
