Hello and welcome! HumaniT’s is a creative outlet for me and an opportunity for me to spread some positive thoughts, open hearts and minds, and yes, maybe make a little extra money. I highly doubt I will get rich or even make much but every little bit helps in this economy.
My name is Brett and I have been a graphic designer for over 30 years. Due to the Pandemic I had to shutter the doors of my 14 year old business. I limped it along for awhile even taking second third jobs to try and get by and avoid unemployment. Security, teaching, and what few jobs came in didn’t pay the bills. So, at 54 I’ve started a new career with my CDL license and driving a truck. Believe me, I’m also looking for jobs as a designer but the right opportunity that meets my family’s needs hasn’t appeared yet.
Still, I have creative urges and need an outlet. I’m also so sick of the negativity the last year and a half have brought out in our communities. I have friends, family and neighbors on so many sides of the political and social issues it’s crazy. There is so much division, derision and vitriol.
HumaniT’s is an opportunity for me to speak out and my social goal is to spread a more positive message. I want remind others and myself of our shared humanity. I want to encourage kindness, respect, understanding, acceptance, appreciation of our beautiful differences, and yes, as corny as it may sound in these cynical times, love.
My creative goal is to express through my art, things I love, find beautiful, interesting, and often humorous.
My financial goal is obviously to maybe make a little money for my family and maybe to put into my other creative interests. If I get really lucky, maybe I can make enough to pursue some of my philanthropic goals.
I hope some of you like what you see, maybe even enough to buy a shirt or two. I already know there will be trolls or haters, I’ve already gotten one or two. I also thank those of you who have already come to my defense. Just remember, even trolls and haters need love too. Sometimes they need even more than the rest of us.
Sincerely,
Brett
Much love, respect,
and success to all of us!
