I revamped the mannequins to match the themes for this weekend, which is ‘Cirque du Bend’ on Friday, and ‘Sparkle and Shine’ on Saturday. Hopefully, these inspire you to come up with fun ‘fits of your own!

We are so excited for this year’s Homegrown Festival for so many reasons. The new Century Center location is perfect for bopping from the locals’ stage at , over to the bluegrass stage at , and then dancing to the Portland and out-of-town bands in and outside .

Some out-of-town sets I’m looking forward to most are and Friday evening, with an indoor VTP closer by . I’m stoked to catch some female energy Saturday evening with and , then a boogie down sesh with . And of course, so many other amazing bands sprinkled in between. I will NOT be staying still at any one stage for long, that’s for sure!

♥️“The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” Shoutout to Bad Bunny for the reminder. I don’t know about you, but that performance filled me with such joy and hope. We needed that. 🐰

That being said, let us not look away or become complacent. Rest, but don’t give up. Minneapolis is still a war zone. I€£ is still out there, ripping the hearts from entire families and throwing them in cages. Commander-in-Orange is still a demonic and racist pe*****le. Ishrahell is still decimating Gaza in the name of “religion.” And (speaking of Ishrahell,) Epstein’s powerful puppet masters are still playing in our faces as they steal, abuse, consume, and eugenically test on the youngest souls of us all. We could all go on listing the BS, but let’s digress for just a moment…

Continue to care for and love one another. Donate to mutual aid organizations. And give your politicians no rest until this mf’er is out of office and his entire complacent administration is behind bars. That would be a good start. And also, let the matriarchs take it from here, already. Geezus.

🐴2026: Year of the Horse🐴 Let’s be honest— we all knew things weren’t going to suddenly get better now that “2025 is in the past.” We’ve been saying that steadily for the past five years, so it’s no surprise that this year has trotted into a rocky start. My feed is filled with propaganda, terror, and sadness, as I’m sure yours is, as well. Maybe these horsies will bring a smile to your face. May you resist the urge to fall into nihilistic cynicism, and continue to build your community and lift those around you. *She says with a nervous smile and lump in her throat.*
I’m grateful to do what I do. I get to escape into nostalgia whimsy, away from the realities of our modern state of affairs. I get to go back to the “good old days.” And yet, it’s in these moments that I remind myself that those days were not so good either. Things have been fu**ed up for a very long time, and most of us were shielded from it as we sat in our ignorance and privilege. Things will never go back to way they were; nor should they. Charge steadfast forward. Buck the system. Oh, and f**k ICE and f**k this administration. 🐎

Well, I decided to take advantage of these insanely sunny December days by vamping up the mannequins for the holidays. I had them in B+W all of November— I suppose, really, they were a reflection of my stagnant creativity and general ‘meh’ mental state. I know I’m not the only one.
But alas, after taking a couple weeks to ground myself at home rather than going out, staying focused at work, and finding a solid exercise routine, my creativity and general mood are relatively renewed.
May you also feel REVIVED this holiday season…and look fabulous doing so. And as we near a New Year, remember to take the Winter to reset and rest. You’re not meant to do it all all the time, darlin’. 😘

🥄Spoon rings, but make them bandana slides. 🤠 These fatty silverware rings came in from a gal who was going through her late aunt’s treasures, and while I thought they were a bit rudimentary and chunky, I thought they’d make terrific bandana slides.
Now if you’re in the market for smaller and more refined spoon rings, we did just receive a batch from Cameron recently, who shaped these from his late grandmother’s silverware collection. Check my stories today for a glimpse of those baddies.
