Bummer for babies! ⠀
Baby mobiles are often designed for their parents sight, while babies cannot see pastels colors of the cute little animals hanging above their heads. A baby can only see in black and white and shades of gray until 4 months old. At Gazibo baby we chose to design a baby mobile that can be seen by baby from Day 1

A pizza delivery for baby? When I designed the Mobile, I thought about the packaging a lot, because I wanted to create something convenient for the parents. The Mobile is carefully packaged into a ... Pizza box!! ⠀

Gazibo Baby's mobile is designed for the baby's view and adapts to the baby's vision development. It can be seen from below, from where the baby is. It is composed of wooden pieces screen-printed in black & white geometric patterns because just after birth, your baby sees only in black and white, with shades of gray. Baby loves to look at contrasting colors in bold geometric patterns.

As I promised here is a short video of the wood cutting process. I’m working on a new design, a kinetic sculpture for babies, so I captured images of the process for you to see the CNC machine in action! The first step is designing the object with a CAD (Computer Aided Design) program to finally generate the G-code which is the language used to talk with the CNC Machine. I’ll tell you more next time. In the meantime, please leave me your comments on the new design!

We took a lot of the mobile pictures with the help of my talented photographer friend Marc Olivier Leblanc. It was a real challenge to take the main picture that would capture the mobile by the bottom while having points of reference for people to understand in which direction the picture was taken. And also Ernest, our baby model, who happens to be my son ;-), had other plans like eating the crib. But nothing stops a professional like my friend and this guy knows how to make the difference!
