I have been putting off writing this post. But somehow today,
I'm ready. Some friends have been asking, where we've been. Well, on December 9th we lost our studio and all of our production equipment, artwork and surfboards to a horrible fire. Good News, we got out alive (and so did our beloved mutt Scooby.) Here's the thing, when you lose everything, you learn really quick what's important to you and what's not. And as it turns out, Chesapeake Island is super important to us. What started out as an experiment to create some cool art and photography while spreading some good energy turned into a symbol of something much bigger. Chesapeake became a terrific excuse to take that road trip, meet that surfer, make that friend, create that artwork. This experiment was never about selling a ton of shirts (though that is pretty awesome) it was more about making sure we never once forgot about the things we love which after the fire, happens to be unchanged.
At Chesapeake Island, we love...
Summertime all the time,
art of all kinds,
the beaches of Delmarva,
the idea that anyone can surf (even if you suck)
And of course being kind.
The fire didn't take any of those things away. So, with that said, we'll be back to the beach and creating in our studio again soon.
We sincerely hope you'll join us when we get there.
-- Be well ✌️
